(托马斯的原型是基于行走在伦敦南部海岸铁路线上的0-6-0 E2 型蒸汽机车)艾德华(Edward)T—2号艾德华是胖总管辖下铁路资历比较老的火车头.艾德华最大优点就是他的亲善力。
每当其他火车头做了错事,胖总管总是让艾德华去安慰大家并重整旗鼓.一开始艾德华身上并没有数字标记。
他现在广为人知的“第2本"头衔是在“铁路系列”的第六故事书里加进去的。
亨利(Henry)T—3号亨利是一个长长的,速度很快的火车头。
他有高贵的外表,而且像所有出身高贵的人一样,他非常敏感,很容易生病。

2 月 20 日,托马斯大电影《托马斯和朋友们多多岛之迷失宝藏》将登上大银幕,让我们来看看,这辆不怎么萌的小火车是怎么出名的?它又如何影响了几代英国人的童年?文 | 明月1942 年 12 月 25 日,一位名叫克里斯托弗的 2 岁男孩收到了一份特殊的圣诞礼物——一台蓝色的蒸汽火车头模型,由他的父亲威尔伯特·奥德瑞牧师亲手制作。
牧师用锯开的扫帚柄做成锅炉,用一支金属管来做烟囱,还用压扁的地销钉作为轮子。
在火车头的侧身,牧师写上了金色的数字“1” 以及字母“NW”。
这其实只是一个小小的玩笑,“NW” 不代表英国任何一家铁路公司,它指的是“无名之地”(No Where)。
奥德瑞牧师为儿子克里斯托弗制作的托马斯小火车模型“我拿着它玩了一会儿,” 现年74 岁的克里斯托弗·奥德瑞回忆道,“继而对父亲提出进一步的要求,你能给我讲一个关于这台火车头的故事吗?”那时他得了风疹,为了安慰他,他的父亲已经编了几个蒸汽火车头的故事。
“父亲回答说,行啊,我可以编一个故事,但是在这之前,它得先有个名字。
要不我们就叫它托马斯小火车吧?”“托马斯之父”奥德瑞牧师手绘的托马斯小火车两年半之后,一本儿童读物《铁路故事》首次出现在了英国的大街小巷。
如今70年过去了,托马斯陪伴几代人度过了他们的童年,并成为一个经典文化符号。
有意思的是,如果你问家长这些故事有什么吸引力的话,很多人都会答不上来。
