Curiosity killed the cat:
Don’t ask about his divorce. Curiosity killed the cat.
Curiosity killed the catThere is a proverb says:” Curiosity killed the cat”, which means a cat with curiosity will be killed literally. But actually the proverb means Inquisitiveness can lea d one into dangerous situations, that’s to say,do not ask too many questions or become too curious about things, or you may get yourself into trouble like a cat that does not see the danger in a new situation. The proverb manages to tell people that cur iosity isn’t a good thing. Curiosity can lead to suspicion and suspicion can lead to doubt. And many things will happen when you are skeptical. Sometimes, it's not because you really want to know something, but rather, you are just curious that's all. For example, boyfriends like to taunt their girlfriends by asking them if they are curious who they had dinner with at the company. Parents often like to peep outside the window indicating they are curious to see who is bringing their daughter home. And also, some people like to keep information about where they are going to make other people curious about their whereabouts. Most of the time, these things may lead to bad ones. However, I think it is good to have a curious nature which means that you find life very interesting. And I find that people who are extremely curious often seek professions in science.Children are most curious when they are babies, roaming around eating and smelling everything in sight. My dog loved to sit on the window seat and stare at the river view. In this way, I often found her to be a curious dog. But a lot of people deny that they are curious because they think that this may make people think they are not generous or that they are really stuck on someone. As for as I am concerned, everyone has a curious bone in them. Curiosity can lead you to amazing adventures in life. A world without curiosity would be too boring for me.。

Little Red Riding Hood" is a classic fairy tale that has been told and retold for many generations. It tells the story of a young girl who wears a red hooded cloak and goes to visit her grandmother in the woods. Along the way, she encounters a wolf who tricks her and eventually devours both her grandmother and tries to eat Little Red Riding Hood as well. However, she is saved by a woodsman who hears her cries for help and kills the wolf. This story has always fascinated me because it teaches important life lessons. One of the lessons is the importance of listening to our instincts and not being easily deceived. Little Red Riding Hood was warned by her mother to stay on the path and not to talk to strangers, but she ignored these warnings and fell into the wolf's trap. This reminds me of the saying "Curiosity killed the cat," which means that being too curious or nosy can get usinto trouble.Another lesson from the story is the importance of being cautious and aware of our surroundings. Little Red Riding Hood didn't notice that the wolf was pretending to be her grandmother until it was too late. This reminds me of the phrase "trust but verify," which means that we should trust others but also be careful and verify their intentions before fully trusting them.Furthermore, the story teaches us the value of community and the importance of helping one another. The woodsman, who is a stranger to Little Red Riding Hood, comes to her rescue and saves her from the wolf. This reminds me of the saying "a friend in need is a friend indeed," which means that true friends are there for us when we need them the most.Overall, "Little Red Riding Hood" is a timeless tale that teaches us important life lessons. It reminds us to trust our instincts, be cautious of our surroundings, and value the support of our community. It is a story that hasstood the test of time and continues to captivate readers of all ages.
阅读理解ASnow leopards (豹) are so hard to photograph that scientists aren't even sure how many of these endangered animals still live in the wild. The Snow Leopard Conservancy(SLC) set up 20 cameras in Russia in 2010 to learn more about the big cats. After a full six months, they had exactly zero picture! That's when the organization understood they needed help. And the only people who could help them in finding the leopards were the very people from whom they wanted to protect the animals—local hunters (猎人).Hunting snow leopards is against the law in Russia, but in the terrible climate of Siberia, the few people living there had to turn to poaching (盗猎) to feed their families. In 2013, Russian naturalist Sergei Spitsyn approached Mergen Markov, a local hunter, and told him his project. Markov agreed to set up the camera where he knew he would find leopards, and it worked.Markov, once a poacher, works full time for the conservationists now and has 10 cameras monitoring leopards. “I visit each camera once a month. I have known this whole region since I was a child,〞 he said proudly. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) began working with other local villagers in 2015. The village would be paid 40,000 rubles at the end of the year if the image of a snow leopard is caught. WWF also rents horses from the villagers so that they do not need to make money by poaching anymore. “Today there are far fewer leopard poachers but leopards still get caught in traps set for other animals, so I have to stay watchful,〞said Markov.Changing guns for cameras has made a big difference in the lives of these former poachers, the village, and the Russian snow leopards.
I am a cat person. I am a dog person. I am a cat person and a dog person.
⽐如在下⾯的⼀句话⾥:“I guess this cat wants to borrow money from me, but he never asks.”(我觉得这⼈想从我这⼉借钱,可他从来不提。
)。
I have drunk too much beer. I guess I am going to cat.
She never stops talking about other people.
Curiosity killed the cat
Curiosity can do more things than kill a cat,and if enothions, well recognized as feminine, are inimical to feline life, then jealousy would soon leave the whole world catless.(好奇可以做到的不只是杀死猫,如果通常被认为是女性化的情绪对猫的生命有害,那么毒剂很快就将世上所有的猫杀死)。
注意,这里用的是can kill a cat,而非过去时形式killed the cat.
1.----Bill:Hey, I heard that Tina got the promotion because she’s been sleeping with Donald all
this time. You think it’s true?
----Louise:I don't know. And I don't wanna know. Curiosity killed the cat.
2.----Charlie:Kevin is acting weird lately. Something must be going on.
----George:Just leave him alone.
----Charlie: don't you want to know? He checks his locker after every class. It's going to be something important. What if it is a gun?
----George: Curiosity killed the cat
