Unit 3 Teenage problems

Period 1 Period 1 Comic strip .Vocabulary and Reading

Teaching Aims :

1. Know the spelling of some words and usage of some phrases

2. Grasp the main idea of Reading and use the information to talk to others about

one‟s problems and how to deal with them

3. Know the different meanings of „get‟

Teaching procedures:

I. Look at this comic. You know that Eddie is getting fat. Here “get” means “become”.

What other meanings does “get” have?

1. Get a lot of homework from her teacher, have no time for her hobbies.

2. A lot of traffic on her way home, get home late.

3. Don‟t have much time to revise for exams, sometimes get low marks and get sad.
