I Don't Wanna Do Chores!

Ugh, chores are the worst! I hate having to clean my room,

take out the trash, or do the dishes. It's just so boring and takes

forever. Whenever my mom or dad tells me to do chores, I

always groan and complain. I'd much rather be playing video

games, watching TV, or hanging out with my friends.

My parents are always nagging me about keeping my room

clean. They're like, "Clean up this mess! How can you live like

this?" But I don't see what the big deal is. So what if there are

some clothes on the floor and toys scattered around? That's just

how I like it. Having everything neat and organized is overrated.

Then there's taking out the trash. That's got to be one of the

grossest chores ever. Ew, who wants to touch that smelly

My name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. I go to Oakwood

Elementary School. My teacher Mrs. Robinson asked us to write

an essay about whether kids should have to do chores at home.

In my opinion, students definitely should NOT have to do chores!

Here's why:

First of all, we are already working super hard all day at

school. From the time we wake up until we get home in the

afternoon, we have to sit at desks for hours and hours listening

to teachers talk. We have to do tons of homework, projects, and

studying. By the end of the school day, we are completely

exhausted! The last thing we want is more work to do at home.

Chores are basically just extra homework that our parents assign.

It's not fair!

Hi everyone! My name is Sammy and I'm here to tell you all

about why it's really important for us students to do chores

around the house. I know, I know, chores can be kind of boring

and not much fun. But they are actually super helpful for you,

your family, and basically everyone!

First off, doing chores teaches you responsibility. What does

responsibility mean? It means being able to take care of yourself

and do what needs to be done without someone always telling

Middle School Kids Are Lazy and Don't Help at Home

I don't get why middle school kids are so lazy! My older

brother Jack is in 8th grade and he never helps out around the

house. It's so unfair and makes me mad!

Like just yesterday, Mom asked Jack to load the dishwasher
