一、教学目标:
1. 知识与技能:
掌握单词:athlete, Olympia, Olympic, host, spirit,
represent, amazed, married
掌握短语:compete against, every for years, take place,
be amazed at, be married to, both...and...
2. 过程与方法:采用参与、合作与交流的学习方式和任务型的教学途径,发展提高学生综合语言运用能力。
3. 情感态度与价值观:了解奥运会发展历史及古代奥运会与现代奥运会的不同,拓展知识面,培养学生爱国情怀。
二、教学重难点:
重点:学会并运用compete against, every four years, take place,
难点:能运用所学知识介绍自己喜欢的运动项目。

1. Did anyone find out when the Olympic began?有没有人查到奥运会是从什么时候开始的?
find out 弄清,查明。 例如:
Can you find out who has taken away my book? 你能弄清楚谁拿走了我的书?
辨析:look for, find和find out
1)look for意思是“寻找”,强调寻找的动作。例如:
He’s looking for his dog.
2)find注重寻找的结果,意思为“找到,发现”,find还有“发现,碰到”之意,多为偶然的发现,可接名词,复合结构或that-clause.例如:
He found his pen in his book.他在书里找到了他的钢笔。
3) find out指通过观察,探索而发现事实的真相、实情,后面接名词,代词或从句。
例如:Have you found out why he was late? 你弄清楚他为什么迟到了吗?
2.The ancient Greeks wanted to have the best athletes compete against each other.古希腊人想让最健壮的运动员互相对抗。
compete v. “竞争;比赛;对抗”可与against、for、with连用但它们用法有别。
