主要从以下几个方面作具体的阐述：一.说教材(the analysis of the contents)：本课是中专一年级英语基础模块上册 Unit4 Time 中的主要部分 Reading;AGift from Grandpa。
本教材在对学生进行听、说、读、写基本训练的同时，侧重培养阅读能力，帮助学生扩大英语词汇量，提高阅读速度，逐步培养学生在阅读过程中的分析、归纳、综合和推断能力。
本单元的教学内容是围绕“时间”来展开教学活动的。
本单元的课前预习是让学生复习如何用英语询问时间并做出回答。
本单元的课文以“爷爷的礼物”为主线，叙述了一个故事，使学生认识到“无论做什么事情，一定要守时。

八.年龄表达法
年龄用“in+物主代词+数词的复数形式” ，表示某人的年龄； 有时在物主代词后面可加上形容词early或 late使其含义更确切些。
在某人30多岁 in one’s thirties The young man is at most in his early thirties.
注意:带有数词的名词作定语的表达“基数词-单数名词-形容词+名词”
四.小数表达法
小数点写作point,小数点前的整数按基数词的规则表 示， 小数后的数字应按其数字直接表示出来。
18.38 --eighteen point three eight。
注意:小数常在比较方式状语从句中被使用。 This stone is 3.5 times heavier than that one. 这块石头比那块重5倍。
五.百分数表达法
百分数用percent 表示，常常和by连用. 11.5-- eleven point five 8.07—eight point zero seven

六.年月日表达法
1)年份用基数词表达，分两位一读，年份前用介词in.
