（2）litter作动词用意为＂乱扔＂。

2. cut down 削减；砍倒cut down意为＂减少＂；是＂动词+副词＂结构的短语，其后接的宾语为名词时，宾语可位于down的前面或后面，为代词时，只能位于down前面。

3. not only ...but also... 不但……而且……not only ...but also... 意为＂不但……而且……＂，其中also可以省略。

not only...but also...是并列连词词组，可连接相同的句子成分或并列成分。

连接并列主语时，句子的谓语动词应与but also后的主语的人称和数保持一致。
