《圣经》是影响英语国家文化的主要因素。

大学英语教学中应让学生掌握基本的英语语言知识，还应对西方文化有一定认识和了解,因此很有必要让学生了解并学习相关的《圣经》知识。

这不仅是大学英语教育的题中之意，还为促进跨文化的交流起到了重要的作用。

本文从不同方面，浅析了大学英语教学中引入《圣经》的重大意义。

【关键词】大学英语 《圣经》 西方文化在大学英语的教学中，学习语言本身不是唯一目的，还应让学生了解并掌握一定的西方文化知识。

其重要性不亚于学习语言本身。

反观以英语为母语的国家就会发现，大多国家的文化都以基督教文化为源头，且深受其影响。

为了更好地了解基督教文化，或者说西方文化的根源，《圣经》这部综合著作开始得到大学英语教学的重视。

笔者认为，不仅专业英语的学生需要掌握圣经文学中的相关知识，大学英语教学中引入《圣经》文学同样意义非凡。

一、《圣经》的语言《圣经》的原始语言为希伯来语。

直到十七世纪，在位的英国国王詹姆士一世命人将其翻译为英文，被称为“钦定本”。

它对于规范英语语言及表达方式有很大影响。

其中的很多谚语，已经成为人们经常引用的说法。

如：a. Judge not, that ye be not judged. 出自《新约》马太福音第7章1节。

意为：不要去判断人，以免自己受判断。

b. Many are called but few are chosen. 出自《新约》马太福音第2章14节，意为应召者多，入选者少。

现常用来指许多人想争取进人某一层次或团体, 但机会有限, 只有少数人得以进入。

c. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. 出自《新约》的马太福音第6章34节。

原文为：take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. 意思是不要预想麻烦的事情，以后的事情以后会处理。

另外一个原因是我们中国学生本身词汇量就比较小，阅读时常常会碰到大量的生词，在阅读的过程中，这些生词就变成了一只只的拦路虎，使我们在阅读时的趣味大大降低了。

所以想要养成长期阅读的习惯，这两个问题必须解决。

如何来解决，第一，选择相对来说比较简单的材料去读，使自己能够顺畅的读下去，比如在选择原著时，可以先从简易版（simplified version）开始阅读。

第二，当慢慢过渡到比较难的材料时，分段落读，一段一段的读懂，这样后面的段落就慢慢迎刃而解了。

现在读英文原著相对以前要容易些了。

在电脑、手机上能轻松的找到生单词的翻译，可能不太准确，但也能传递意思。

如果是在kindle上读，比较难的单词都会有注解。

另外我们知道，阅读英文时，不需要每个单词的意思都要知道，根据上下文也能读懂，关键是养成阅读习惯，习惯之后阅读速度就会慢慢提高了。
