Unit 3Section B &Self-Check1. For many students,it is eas y to get to school. 对于许多学生而言,去学校很容易。
It is +形容词+不定式,是固定句式,意思是“做某事怎么样”;这是一个动词不定式作主语的句型,但不写在句首,用it 代替。
不定式前可加for...短语,作不定式的主语。
如:It’s very important for us to study English well.对我们来说,学好英语很重要。
It is difficult to finish the work today. 今天完成工作太困难了。
2. There is a very big river between their school and the village. 他们的学校与村庄之间有一条大河。
between...and意思是“在……之间”。
多指两者之间,也可指三者或三者以上,表示彼此之间清楚的独立个体关系。
如:The Yalu River is between China and Korea. 鸭绿江介于中朝两国之间。
3. One 11-year-old boy,Liangliang,crosses the river every school day. But he is not afraid. 亮亮,一个11岁的男孩,周一至周五每天过河,但他并不害怕。
(1)11-year-old是复合形容词,其构成形式是:“数词+名词+形容词”,中间加连字符。
名词必须用单数形式。
只能用作定语。
注意前面的冠词要依据数字的首字母音素确定。
如:He has a one-year-old son. 他有一个一岁的儿子。
(one是以辅音因素/w/开头,因此冠词用a。

Section B and Self Check解析及拓展(一)创设情境,导入新课[Create plots and scenes to guide the new lesson]Bring some food in class, such as apples, oranges, biscuits etc. Show an orange to the class and ask what it is and if they like it. Then ask some students to share to taste it. Then ask them how it tastes. They answer it tastes sour and sweet. Write the sentence An orange tastes sour on the blackboard. Do this action with the other food brought in class. Then get the students to make a collection and have a discussion. The students collect the words of foods and drinks they have learnt so far, and discuss different foods and drinks, different tastes. Students may do this job with great interest. At last, get the students to finish 1a and 1b by themselves. Give them some help if necessary.(二)自读感知,整体把握[Pre-read to apperceive and grasp the whole]Review and consolidate the usage of the Passive V oice. Make students know the history of the potato chips and the tea. Both of them are quite popular nowadays. Encourage students to work out some ideas of inventions by working in groups. Section B is designed by four steps. In 1a - 1b, revise food and drink and let students know different kinds of foods and drinks have different tastes. In 2a - 2c, listening practice is designed to circle T or F in part 2a and complete the sentences in part 2b by listening again. The students role play the conversation about the invention of the potato chips based on the information from the activities above. In 3a -3b, reading and writing practice is designed according to the target language to consolidate the usage of the Passive Voice. In 4a -4b, there are two activities about inventions which are designed to review and consolidate the content learnt further. One is to think of some ideas of an invention which will help you do something that you don’t like doing. The other is to ask about inventions each other and try to sell you partner’s invention to the class.(三)合作交流,解读探究[Cooperate and intercourse to unscramble and research] The main content in section B is to talk about how the potato Chips and the tea were invented.
