Unit 2 重要词汇解析
pay
●pay 作名词,意为“工资;薪水;津贴”。
如:
He gets his pay from the company once a month. 他每月从公司里领一次工资。
●pay 作动词,意为“付款”,后可接表示人的名词作宾语,也可接钱款作宾语。
如:
You should pay me 2 yuan for this ticket. 买这张票,你得付给我两元钱。
●pay作形容词,意为“收费的;需付费的”。
如:
There is a pay phone in front of the library. 在图书馆前面有一个投币式收费电话。
walk
●walk作名词,可以和表示时间段的名词所有格连用,表示两地间的距离。
如:
It’s about 20 minutes’ walk from here to the zoo. 从这儿到动物园约有二十分钟步行的路程。
●walk作动词,意为“走路;散步”。
如:
She usually walks to school. 她通常步行去学校。
●walk 后接表示地点的名词时,要加上介词to;walk之后接here, there, home

arrive
●arrive 是不及物动词,后接表示地点的名词时,其后要加上介词at(后接小
地方)或in(后接大地方),相当于get to。

The train usually arrives at the station at 8 o’clock. 这辆火车通常在8点钟到达这个车站。
Mr Green is arriving in Shanghai this afternoon. 格林先生今天下午将到达上海。
●arrive后接here, there, home 等地点副词时,不需要加介词。
如:

enjoy
