beside 介词，意为“在……旁边”There is a town beside the sea. 在大海边有一个城镇。
Come and sit beside me. 来坐在我旁边。
2. The chair is in front of the desk. 椅子在桌子的前面。
in front of 是介词短语，意思为“在……前面”They are talking in front of the house. 他们正在房子前面交谈。
区分in front of 和in the front of in front of 表示在物体外部的前面·in the front of 表示一者在另一者的空间之内的前方I’m sitting in front of the classroom. 我坐在教室的前面。
(我在教室之外)I’m sitting in the front of the classroom. 我坐在教室的前端。
(我在教室内3.on，above，over这三个介词都有“在……上”的意思，但用法各有不同。
1）.on强调某物在另一物体的表面上，两者为接触关系。
如：There is a book on the desk．桌子上有本书。
2).above表示“离开某物的上方”，强调高于某一点或某一物体，但不一定在垂直的上方。
另外，above还可指温度、数量、年龄等。
如：The temperature will stay above zero in the daytime．白天温度将在零度以上。
There is a light above the table．桌子上方悬挂着一盏灯。
（above不强调正上方）3).over①表示垂直的上方或正上方，两物体之间有一定距离。
也可指覆盖在某物上。
如：There is a stone bridge over the river．河上有座石桥。
（不能用ab ove）②.over 还可与数目、数量、年龄、金钱和时间连用。
eg:It costs over 100. 这个值100以上。
③.be over完了，结束,school is over.放学了。
eg:It costs over 100. 这个值100以上。
4. near的用法:1)用作形容词,意为"近的;临近的",常用作表语或定语。
例如:The post office is quite near.邮局(离这儿)非常近。
2) near用作副词,near指(时间。
空间)"接近;近"。
例如: My parent live very near.我父母住的地方离这里很近。
3) near可用作介词.near与near to.,当表示空间上的"接近"时,用near与near to都行。
但是,表示非空间接近,而作"几乎"(nearly)解时, near to中to则不可省略。
She is sitting near(to) me.他坐在我的附近。
The cinema is near t he supermarket.电影院在超级市场附近。
I came very near to hitting him.我几乎要撞到他。
4) near to与next to 二者从语法结构上看,用法是一样的。
只不过前者多指"向……靠近";后者指"贴近;挨着;与……相邻"。
试比较: He sits near to me.他坐在我的附近。
He sits next to me.他挨着我坐。
5）in front of 在……前面（范围之外）*in the front of 在…..前面（范围之内）如：There is a blackboard in the front of the classroom.There is a mountain in front of the house。
房子前面有一座山：on the front of 在...前部的表面上There's something interesting on the front page. 头版上有些有意思的消息。
