1a—1c是整个Section A的基础，通过1a—1c的铺垫，学生们能对本单元语法知识有一个初步了解并能掌握一定数量的描述性词汇，能够熟悉描述事物特点、品质的句式“It has/is the…”。
通过2a—2d部分听力、对话练习等活动，培养了学生综合汇集信息的能力。
Grammar Focus通过表格呈现了单元重点语法结构，即谈论对某场所或事物的喜好，以及对同类事物进行比较的最高级句型结构，然后通过3a—3c练习巩固本单元重要语法知识。
