Glad to see you ,my dear judges. I’m No. 44. (鞠躬)
It is my great honor to be here to share my lesson with you. Today I’m
going to talk about part A of unit2 What’s the matter,Mike?(板书题目)in PEP English Students Book, book2 in Grade Six.
The topic of this unit is mainly about describing of one’s healthy
conditions and mood. I’ll explain my lesson from the following aspects.
Firstly, let’s focus on the analysis of Teaching Material:
Students in Grade Six have studied English at least more than 3 years,
they have had certain skills in English. They are eager to learn, eager to
show, and their abstract thinking is developing. What’s more, they are
forming the ability to explore English knowledge and skill with some
tools, such as pictures, videos and dictionaries.
So I set the following three Teaching Aims:
The first ones are knowledge aim, by the end of this lesson, students will
be able to read, recognize and us the key phrases: have a fever, hurt, have
a headache, have a toothache, have a sore throat. And key structures:
What’s the matter? My throat sore. My nose hurts.
The second ones are ability aims, that is:
To develop the students ability of listening and speaking,
To train the students ability of working in groups. The third ones are emotion aims, that is:
To foster the students consciousness of good cooperation and proper
competition.
Next, I’ll say something about teaching key points and difficult points:
The key points of this lesson: To help students to master the key phrases
and key structures, make sure they can use them in real situations.
The difficult points: To help students grasp the key phrases , make sure
they can write and pronounce them correctly.
Fifthly, it talks about the teaching methods;
In this lesson,I mainly use three teaching methods: communicative
teaching method, situational teaching method and task -based teaching
method.

needed.
Then it talks about study ways, it includes:
1、Let the students master the key phrases better by watching, listening,
speaking and using.
2、Enable students to study English language by describing,
communicating and using. 3、Let students understand how to compare qualities and how to
cooperate.
Now, it comes to the most important part, teaching procedures. It
includes four steps:
Step 1 Warm up
After greeting with my students, I’ll use the multimedia to play the part
Let’s Chant.Let all the students to say and do as the chant, the aim is to let
the students get in touch with the key words and key structures by
listening, speaking and doing. And enter in the next part naturally.
Step2 Presentation
I’ll use the multimedia to present the pictures in the textbook and say
“Look at the clinic, there are so many patients, what’s the matter with
them?”Then point at Mike, and ask “What’s matter with Mike?” Lead
students to answer, “He has a fever.” Lead in and teach the key phrases
have a fever. Using the same way ,I teach the key prases: hurt, have a
headache, have a toothache, have a sore throat.
After that, I’ll use the multimedia to play the part “Let’s learn”, let the
students listen to the tape carefully, then read after it.
The purpose is to present the key phases and key structures in a situation
that is close to the students real life experience, so as students can understand and learn the language easily and naturally.
Step3 Practice
After dealing with the key phrases, I’ll arrange three activities, let my
students put the knowledge in to practice.
Activity 1 Let’s play
Activity 2 Listening
Activity 3 Role-playing(活动可以自己安排)
Through these activities, the students put the new knowledge into practice.
At the same time,it developes their ability of communication and
cooperation.
