A manuscript of speaking lesson

FU Cheng Middle School----Zheng Fenghua

Good afternoon, everyone. Now I’ll say Section A(1a to 2c) of Unit6 in Book

One Grate seven. I’ll prepare to say the lesson from eight parts.

(一) STATUS AND FUNCTION

1、From this lesson, it starts asking the Ss to grasp contents of each Sample. To

attain “four skills” request of listening, speaking, reading and writing. To start

listing “shopping list” and tell the Ss to remember the new words. To learn to talk

about what they like and don’t like. Therefore this lesson is in the important position

of the teaching material.

2.This lesson is the first one of Unit 6. So if the Ss can learn it well, it will be

helpful to make the Ss learn the rest of this unit.

3.Such a topic is related to daily life, so it is helpful to raise learning interests of

students and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English.

(二)ANALYSIS OF THE STUDENTS

The Students has learned English for about Half of the semester so far. Because

the content of this unit come from the life, and relate every student, so they must be

very interested in it. But the students can’t use “do” and “does”. The majority

student can be free to talk about what they like and don’t like.

(三)TEACHING AIMS AND DEMANDS

1.Knowledge objects

(1) To study the new words , like,banana,hamburger,tomato,broccoli,orange,

ice cream, salad,etc. (2) To learn sentences :

Do you like Salad? -------Yes,I do. No,I don’t

Do they like French fries? ------- Yes, they do . No, they don’t.

Does he like strawberries? -------Yes, he does. No, he doesn’t.

2.Ability objects

(1) To develop the Ss’ abilities of listening, speaking,

(2) To train the Ss’ ability of working in pairs.

(3) To improve the ability of students to talk about preferences by learning the

useful structures.

(四)TEACHING KEY AND DIFFICULT POINTS

1.Key points and difficult points:

(1) To study words about foods,

(2) Countable nouns and uncountable nouns .

(3) The verd “like”`s Affirmative Negative Sentences usage

(4) General Question of the verd like and its answer in the affirmative or Negative

answer

(五) TEACHING AIDS

Multi-media computer, Tape recorder, Powerpoint . They will be needed in this

lesson.

(六)The Teaching Methods

As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in the Middle

School is to cultivate students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and

their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I’ll mainly use “Communicative” teaching method, “Audio-visual” teaching method and

“Task-based” teaching method. To use these methods are helpful to develop

the Ss’ thought.

(七) Teaching Procedure

I’ll finish this lesson in four steps. First I’ll divide the Ss into four groups and

bring a competition into the class. At last let’s see which group is the winner.

Step1 Warm-up

Use the multi-media exhibition to show some pictures, create scenarios.Ask

students: What food will you bring for a picnic?

Brainstorming of students:apples,milk,water,the words about food we have learnt.

Purpose of my designing :Through has rhythm chant to build the good English

atmosphere, simultaneously draws out food class word for under to foreshadow

Step2 Presentation

1. Introduce new words with pictures :hamburgers, tomatoes, broccoli, French fries,

orange, ice cream, salad, strawberries, pears .Students listen and repeat. If possible,

choose some students to read one by one.

2. Match the words with the pictures in 1a on page 31.

3.Group Work: Fill in the Word Map according to its category, then add more

words of its kind.

Task one, Group Work:

Word Network (词语网络)

hamburgers tomatoes broccoli, orange, carrots

ice cream salad bananas strawberries pears French fries, eggs, chicken

Task Two: Make a shopping list: What food would you like to bring for a

picnic?Students Work in groups of four, then fill in the hand-out for a shopping list

4.Say to students : I like apples. They are delicious. Do you like apples?

---Yes ,I do. ---No, I don’t. Use the flash cards to ask students’ likes and dislikes.

For example:

Lily, do you like bananas/apples/ strawberries?----Yes, I do. No, I don’t.

Does Lily like bananas /strawberries? Yes, she does .No, she doesn’t. Students

repeat.

Purpose of my designing:Activating prior knowledge through the interest to start a

new project. Further consolidate the expansion of word

1.Listen and number the conversations in 1b.Check answeirs.then listen and repeat.
