Lesson 17 Save the Tigers一、教材分析本单元是冀教版八年级下册unit 3 animals are our friends.主要围绕animals这一主题展开各种教学活动,本课是这个单元的第五课时,通过描述救助老虎的组织机构、老虎对于环境的重要性及老虎面临灭绝的危险,号召人们保护老虎,保护野生动物。
二、教学目标知识与技能目标1. 单词和短语Century, fur, symbol, courage, brave, chain, balance, reason, disappear, kill, cut, decrease.At the beginning of, drop to, the number of, in balance, in danger, cut down, as well.2. 重点句子At the beginning of the 20th century, the number of tigers in the wild was around 100000.Today that number has dropped to a few thousand.The tiger is at the top of the food chain.It helps keep the number of other wild animals in balance.In recent years tigers have been in danger of disappearing.People have cut down a lot of trees as well.过程与方法目标在学习本课的过程中了解与掌握阅读的技巧。

一、教材分析:
①本单元在教材中的地位和作用:本单元通过由"讨论旅游"引起的故事,地理描述以及任务要求,让学生了解世界地理知识,学习各大洲、大洋、沙漠、河流名称,学会描述主要地区的一些基本地理特证。
②本课在本单元中的地位和作用:
本课讲述的是世界第一大洲的面积、人口、语言、地理特证和重要城市等内容,要通过学习让学生认识并了解亚洲地理的初步知识,开阔学生视野。
二、教学目标的确立
①知识目标
A、掌握词汇:area , Russian , mountain
B、掌握短语及句型:square kilometres , more than ,The third-longest ,geographical features
China is the biggest country in area and population
②能力目标:
培养听、说、读、写能力,以说为主,能流畅复述课文,并简要介绍中国的基本特证。
③情感目标:
A、鼓励学生用英语表达自己的看法。
B、乐于接触并了解世界文化。
④德育目标:
A、了解并学习关于亚洲地理的初步知识,开阔视野。
B、了解自己国家的基本情况,培养民族自豪感。

Ask the students to read the text quickly , and learn about the Main facts of Asia and Answer +he questions

Step two:
Read the text again and learn about more facts about Asia and answer the following questions:
①How big is Asia ?

⑤what are the main geographical features of Asia ?
⑥what are the biggest cities ?
Step three:
Listen to the tape , and follow to read loudly.

五、教学反思
1.要巧妙导入。
一堂好的课,不仅要求老师精心备课,熟悉了解教材,而且
要求老师优化课堂,增强趣味性,以吸引学生,激发学生的学习兴趣。
这就要靠老师导入合理。
2.教与学要有机结合。
既要有老师的教,更要有学生积极主动的参与,要将
学生被动变为主动,要体现学生的主体性和老师的指导性。
让学生学得开心快乐。
3.要把握好课堂时间。
不要完全按照备好了的课去上,必要时讲课内容可稍
微变动,以达到最好的课堂效果。
4.要公平对待好生与差生。
老师点学生回答问题时,不能只叫好的,差的也
要叫。
要根据问题的难易程度,难的叫好的,容易的叫差的。
这样差的就会想我也能回答出问题,能激发差生的学习兴趣,提高他们的自信心,也有利于整个班级成绩的提高。
5.通过这节课我深刻体会到了备课既要备教材,也要备学生的重要性。
