Dear judge, good morning. Today, I’d like to talk about unit 2my day, Oxford junior school, English book, 7A.I divide this unit into 6periods, and this is the 2nd . I’d like to talk about it in 3 parts.Part 1 analysis of the teaching material.the content of this lesson is about school activities. From this lesson, Ss should know how to describe their school activities. I’ll use learned knowledge to create real situation for them.According to the content, I confirm my teaching aims as follow.1.knowledge aims: to enable ss grasp the new phrases: lots of /a lot of, best friend, chat with eachother, do morning exercises, a member of the swimming club, e-mail me soonand the sentences: we always talk to each other at lunchtime, I spend about anhour a day doing my homework., I go to the reading club after school everyTuesday and Friday.2.ability aims: a. learn to write e-mail according to one’s experiences;b. to enable Ss grasp the new phrases and sentences firmly and use them freely todescribe their school activities.3.emotion aims: to enable Ss to love school more by comparing Millie’s school to our school.The key point is to enable Ss to describe their school activities with new-learnt phrases and sentence.the difficult point is he application of the new contents in Ss’ description.Part 2 teaching and studying methodsUse CAI to show a flash to help Ss enter into the atmosphere of this lesson. Use PPT to show the Ss some activities in our school and help them feel relaxed in my class. Then, I’ll also use tapes , blackboard, chalk, pictures, colorful papers to help.Part3 teaching proceduresStage1: pre-reading (5mins)Step1:warm-up . show a short flash between Eddie and his friend then ask Ss questions that are related to the flash and their own life to draw Ss’attention..1)when do you wake up today, Sharon?2)what are you going to do tomorrow evening ,Joice?3)At 11:00 pm ,do you go to sleep ,Nothing?4)Do you love your school, Lily?Step2: pictures. Devide all the Ss into 4 groups. Each group has a leader.Show some photos by PPT. In the photos ,there are some Ss in our class doing somekinds of activities . let the Ss have a discussion to describe what the people inthe photos are doing and the leaders come to the blackboard to write down theirdescription. The other classmates are judges to tell whether there are mistakes andcorrect them.Step3: teacher introduces something about e-mail .Stage2: while-readingStep1: teacher asks Ss to listen to the reading part over the radio once, and read together with the radio.Step2: let Ss raise their hands to tell the teacher what phrases and sentences in the reading part are totally new to them.Teacher writes these new contents on the blackboard, and do some explanation aboutthe new points and the passage. (USE PPT)Step3: Do pair work : teacher ask Ss to ask-answer practice according to the content. One student asks and his/her deskmate answers.For example ,student A asks ‘What’s the name of the new school?’student B gives the answer. The other Ss are as judges. If student B did a wrong job, he/she has to make a sentence. At least one newly-learnt word or phrase should be used in the sentence.Stage3: after-reading (18mins)1:fill the blanks . one paragraph that is related to school activities is given to the 4 groups . some words in the paragraph are missed. The 4 groups will have a competition to see which group can fill the blanks using as many suitable words as possible.Stage 4 :conclusionStep1:Teacher asks Ss to talk about the difference between Millie’s school life and theirown school life.Step2:Review the new words and sentences.Step3:homeworkAsk each student to take a photo in our school. Besides, at least one sentence should be written to describe the photo. Next week, all the photos should be hand in and show in the class.That’s all about my lesson.
