Nature vs. nurtureNowadays people usually comment others through their characters and behaviours. As a result, the topic of individuals’ personalities and behaviours impacted by nature or nurture has been a hot debate for a large number of years. While some individuals believe that these personality traits and behaviours have been decided when people was born, the others deem that these are formed generally in daily life and effected by circumstance. This essay will demonstrate that both of them can influence people’s personalities and behaviours.Admittedly, some features of individual inherit gene from their parents. These features cannot alter with the changing of environment. For example, Chinese always have black hair. Even if some of them go to other countries where people have another colours hair, the colour of their hair cannot change. According to the Beckett, C. (2002), there is no doubt that hair colour is decided by their parents. It seems that people’s appearance can be decided by nature. What is more, Dockery, M. and Reiss, M. (1999) said that some behaviour which relate to extraordinary early states of people’s life usually have no relationship with environment or the experience of the organism. They consider that behaviours formed at the proper time by some body mechanism and cannot be influenced by external environment. Therefore, people’s behaviours are possible result of their genetic inheritance. However, it not means that individuals cannot transform their behaviours and charter. Actually, the most aspect of people’s habit and temperament depend on nurture. Generally speaking, people often imitate and observe others, especially their parents act and language when they were young said by Bandura and Huston (1961). In this way, it is difficult to deny that people’s behaviours and the way of speaking are affected by other people. In addition, environment can change individuals’ behaviour. According to the Dockery, M. and Reiss, M. (1999), as organism experience in the environment of life, its can form an appropriate manner. In primitive society, for instance, people can prey animals as food with some simple tools which may be really difficulty for modern people. However, at that time without this skill some of them will die. Thus, people’ behaviours seem to be influenced by circumstance. It is really difficult to differentiate nature and nurture which can bring more effects on people in terms of forming behaviour and personality traits as they are inextricably and interwoven. In this situation, all individuals should try their best to make themselves prefect, as people’s personality traits and behaviours cannot be only decided by their gene.。

As to me, I am fond of that molding one's character depends on nurture rather than nature.Thearticle about “Nature or Nurture?”introduce a experiment behavioral psychology taken by Stanley Milgram of Yale University. What he found from this experiment is that over 60 per cent of the teacher-subjects continued to obey Milgram up to the 450-volt limit to punish the pupil who gave the wrong answer to a question. This result was beyond expectation of a group of psychiatrists who believed that teacher-subjects would refuse to obey the experimenter. So how can we possible account for this vast discrepancy? However, the explanation of the result can be separated into two discrepant views. Some argue that some sort of nature that was activated by the experimental, while another opinion is that the social environment which is similar to nurture influence the teacher-subjects' actions.Personally,in the majority of cases people may surrender individual properties like loyalty, self-sacrifice and discipline to the service of malevolent systems of authority. Moreover, people's character will affect greatly by the people around them and social environment, and this is what we call nurture. For example, the growing environment influences child's personality unconsciously. 先天和后天哪个更重要英语作文150全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1Which is More Important: Nature or Nurture?Nature vs. nurture is an age-old debate that has been discussed by philosophers, scientists, and psychologists for centuries. The question of whether our genes or our environment play a bigger role in shaping who we are has intrigued thinkers across various fields. In this essay, we will explore the importance of nature (innate traits) and nurture (environmental influences) in shaping individuals.Firstly, let's discuss the significance of nature in determining our traits and behaviors. Our genetic makeup, inherited from our parents, plays a crucial role in determining our physical attributes, such as eye color, height, and predispositions to certain illnesses. In addition, genetic factors are also believed to influence our personality traits, intelligence, and talents. For example, studies have shown that certain genetic variations may increase the likelihood of developing conditions like schizophrenia ordepression. Therefore, our biological inheritance undoubtedly plays a significant role in shaping who we are.On the other hand, the environment in which we grow up also has a substantial impact on our development. Our upbringing, family dynamics, cultural background, and social interactions all contribute to shaping our beliefs, values, and behaviors. For instance, children raised in a nurturing and supportive environment are more likely to develop secure attachment styles and positive self-esteem. In contrast, individuals who experience adverse childhood experiences, such as abuse or neglect, may struggle with emotional regulation and forming healthy relationships later in life.It is important to recognize that nature and nurture interact in complex ways to shape our development. While our genetic predispositions lay the foundation for certain traits, it is our environment that can either enhance or inhibit their expression. For example, a child born with a genetic predisposition for musical talent may never realize their potential if they are not exposed to music lessons and opportunities for practice. Similarly, a person with a genetic vulnerability to a mental health disorder may be able to prevent its onset through healthy lifestyle choices and supportive relationships. In conclusion, both nature and nurture play important roles in shaping who we are as individuals. While our genetic inheritance provides us with a blueprint for our traits and behaviors, our environment can either support or hinder their expression. Ultimately, it is the interaction between nature and nurture that determines our unique characteristics and experiences. By recognizing the importance of both factors, we can better understand the complexity of human development and work towards promoting positive outcomes for individuals across the lifespan.篇2Which is more important: nature (innate qualities) or nurture (environmental influences)? This age-old question has long sparked debates among psychologists, educators, and even everyday individuals. While some argue that our genetic makeup and natural disposition determine our fate, others believe that our surroundings and experiences play a more significant role in shaping who we are. In my opinion, both nature and nurture are equally important and work together to influence our development.Firstly, let's take a closer look at the concept of nature. Our genetic makeup, inherited from our parents, endows us withcertain qualities and predispositions that can impact our behavior, personality, and abilities. For instance, if a person is born with a talent for music, it is likely that their parents or grandparents also have a musical background. These innate qualities provide a foundation upon which we can build and develop our skills and talents. On the other hand, nurture refers to the environmental influences that we are exposed to from an early age. Our family, friends, teachers, and the broader society all contribute to shaping our beliefs, values, and behaviors. For example, a child raised in a supportive and nurturing environment is more likely to develop confidence, empathy, and a strong sense ofself-worth. Conversely, a child who grows up in a hostile or neglectful environment may struggle with trust issues, lowself-esteem, and behavioral problems. While nature provides us with a blueprint for our development, nurture helps us to actualize our potential and navigate the complexities of the world around us. It is the interplay between our genetic predispositions and our lived experiences that ultimately determines who we are and who we become. Therefore, it is essential to recognize the importance ofboth nature and nurture in shaping our identities and understanding ourselves and others. In conclusion, the debate between nature and nurture is not a matter of either/or but rather a complex interplay between our genetic inheritance and our environmental influences. Both factors are crucial in determining our individual differences, strengths, weaknesses, and potentials. By acknowledging the significance of both nature and nurture, we can better appreciate the unique ways in which they shape our lives and contribute to our personal growth and development.篇3The debate over which is more important, nature (innate characteristics) or nurture (external influences), has been ongoing for decades. While some argue that genetics play a significant role in determining a person's traits and abilities, others believe that environmental factors and experiences shape individuals into who they are. In this essay, we will explore the importance of both nature and nurture and discuss which one ultimately plays a more significant role in shaping human development.Firstly, let's look at the role of nature in determining a person's traits. Genetics play a crucial role in determining aspects such as physical features, intelligence, and personality traits. For example, a child may inherit their parent's eye color, height, or tendency to develop certain diseases. Genetics also play a role in determining intelligence to some extent, as studies have shown that intelligence is partly hereditary. However, while genetics provide the foundation for who we are, nurture also plays a crucial role in shaping our development. Environmental factors such as upbringing, education, and social interactions can greatly influence a person's personality, beliefs, and values. For example, a child raised in a nurturing and supportive environment is more likely to develop a positiveself-esteem and healthy relationships with others. On the other hand, a child exposed to neglect or abuse may struggle with trust issues and low self-esteem.In addition, experiences and opportunities provided by the environment can also impact a person's abilities and achievements. For instance, a child who is exposed to a rich and stimulating learning environment is more likely to excel academically compared to a child who lacks access to such resources. Similarly, someone who is given the opportunity topursue their interests and talents is more likely to succeed in those areas.Ultimately, both nature and nurture play crucial roles in shaping human development. While genetics provide the foundation for our traits and abilities, environmental factors and experiences also significantly impact who we become. In many cases, it is the interaction between genetics and environment that ultimately determines a person's characteristics and outcomes. In conclusion, the question of which is more important, nature or nurture, is complex and multifaceted. Both play significant roles in shaping human development, and it is the interaction between the two that ultimately determines who we are. Rather than pitting nature against nurture, it is important to recognize the importance of both factors in shaping individuals and understanding human behavior.。
天才是天生的还是后天培养的英语作文Title: Nature vs. Nurture: The Debate on the Origin of TalentThe question of whether talent is innate or acquired through nurture has been a long-standing debate among scholars, educators, and psychologists. This debate often centers on the complex interplay between genetic predisposition and environmental factors in the development of exceptional abilities. While some argue that talent is primarily a genetic gift, others believe it is the product of diligent practice and a supportive environment. On the side of nature, those who believe that talent is innate often cite studies showing a strong correlation between genetic factors and exceptional performance in various domains. Genetic research has identified specific genes that may be associated with intelligence, musicality, or athletic prowess. For instance, studies on identical twins have demonstrated a significant degree of similarity in their cognitive abilities and interests, suggesting a strong genetic influence. However, the nurture perspective emphasizes the crucial role of environmental factors in the development of talent. According to this view, even individuals with a genetic predisposition for a particular talent may not achieve exceptional performance unless they are provided with the necessary opportunities and resources. This includes access to quality education, mentors, and practice environments that foster the growth and refinement of skills. The truth, however, likely lies somewhere between these two extremes. While genetic factors may provide a foundation for certain abilities, the development of talent often requires a combination of innate predisposition and environmental nurturing. Even individuals with exceptional genetic endowments need to engage in sustained practice and exposure to challenging situations to fully realize their potential. Moreover, the definition of talent itself is subjective and context-dependent. What may be considered exceptionalin one domain may be average or even below-average in another. This variability suggests that the development of talent is influenced by a wide range of factors, includingpersonal interests, cultural values, and social expectations. In addition, the role of motivation and perseverance cannot be overstated. Even individuals with significant genetic advantages may fail to achieve their full potential if they lack the drive and dedication to pursue their passions. Conversely, those who possess average or even below-average genetic endowments in a particular domain may still achieve remarkable success through dedication and hard work.It is also worth noting that talent is not a static trait; it evolves and changes over time. As individuals grow and develop, their interests, aptitudes, and abilities may shift and adapt to new experiences and challenges. This fluidity underscores the importance of providingindividuals with a diverse range of experiences and opportunities to explore and develop their talents. In conclusion, the question of whether talent is innate or acquired through nurture is not easily answered. Both genetic predisposition and environmental factors play crucial roles in the development of exceptional abilities. The key lies in recognizing the interactive nature of these factors and providing individuals with the support and resources they need to fully realize their potential. By fostering a balance between nature and nurture, we can help individuals to identify and cultivate their unique talents, leading to personal growth and societal advancement.。
