The purpose of this addendum is to instruct you onthe use of the remote control functions of your Sensaphone inorder to turn on or turn off devices such as any low-voltagedevice, a high-voltage relay, or even an X10 device utilizing theX10 Powerflash module, not included.Sensaphone 1104/08 RemoteControl FeatureThe Sensaphone 1104/08 RemoteControl allows you to monitorand check on the status of your facility from any cellular orordinary telephone. The Sensaphone 1104/08 RemoteControl alsoallows you to turn a device on or off using the 1104/08 keypad orusing your touch-tone telephone. Y ou can also inquire about thestatus of the device during a voice status report. This Sensaphone contains a relay contact on the rear of the unit(See Figure 1). The relay contact supports both a normally openand a normally closed contact, commonly referred to as a “doublethrow” relay. When the Sensaphone relay is turned ON, a connection is madebetween the ON and C (common) terminals and the connection tothe OFF terminal is disconnected. When the Sensaphone relay isturned OFF, a connection is made between the OFF and the C(common) terminals and the connection beetween the ON and C(common) is disconnected(See Figure 1).When the Sensaphoneunit is put in standby mode, the relay remains in its last knownstate. If the Sensaphone is completely shut down by removing thebatteries and unplugging it from power, the relay returns to anOFF state, connecting the OFF terminal to the C (common). The Sensaphone relay is a low voltage relay. Only voltages lessthan 30 volts AC 2AMPS, or 30 volts DC 2AMPS may beswitched. For higher voltages, an additional high-voltage relaywould be required.A-1A-2A-3A-4Sensaphone®Model 1104/1108 User’s ManualRelay Output SpecificationsRated Load: 2 A at 30 V AC2 A at 30 VDCMax. (ForHT1000, MT/MTS2000, MTX838/8000/9000, Visar and some newer products —IBM model 386, 4 MEG RAM and DOS 5.0 or higher are recommended.) A Radio Interface Box (RIB) may be required as well as the appropriate cables. The RIB and cables must be ordered separately.Licensing:A license is required before a software (RVN) order is placed. The software license is site specific (customer number and ultimate destination tag). All sites/locations must purchase their own software.Be sure to place subsequent orders using the original customer number and ship-to-tag or other licensed sites; ordering software without a licensed customer number and ultimate tag may result in unnecessary delays. To obtain a no charge license agreement kit, order RPX4719. To place an order in the U.S. call 1-800-422-4210. Outside the U.S., FAX 847-576-3023.Subscription Program:The purchase of Radio ServiceSoftware/Customer Programming/Customer ConfigurationSoftware (RVN & HVN kits) entitles the buyer/subscriber to three years of free upgrades. At the end of these three years, the sub-scriber must purchase the same Radio Service Software kit to receive an additional three years of free upgrades. If the sub-scriber does not elect to purchase the same Radio Service Software kit, no upgrades will be sent. Annually a subscription status report is mailed to inform subscribers of the RSS/CPS/CCS items on our database and their expiration dates.Notes:1)A subscription service is offered on “RVN”-Radio Service Software/Customer Programming/Customer Configuration Software kits only.2)“RVN” software must only be procured through Radio Products and Services Division (RPSD). Software not procured through the RPSD will not be recorded on the subscription database; upgrades will not be mailed.3)Upgrades are mailed to the original buyer (customer number & ultimate tag).4)SP software is available through the radio product groups. The Motorola General Radio Service Software Agreement is now available on Motorola Online. used.(2)PCB-tracks or cables/wires for Remote Sense must be kept as short as possible.Twisted pair or shielded pairs are suggested for remote compensation and must be kept as short as possible.(3)We recommend using adequate cross section for PCB-track layout and/or cables to connect the power supply module to the load in order to keep the voltage drop below0.3V and to make sure the power supply's output voltage remains within the specified range.(4)Note that large wire impedance may cause oscillation of the output voltage and/or increased ripple.Consult technical support or factory for further advice of sense operation.Design ReferenceAll the DC-DC converters of this series are tested before delivery using the recommended circuit shown in Fig.3.Fig.3CapacitorsvalueOutput at least a100µF electrolytic capacitors is connected at the input in order to ensure adequate voltage surge suppression and protection.2.Output ripple can be further reduced by appropriately increasing the output capacitor values C3and/or by selecting capacitors with a low ESR(equivalent series resistance). Also make sure that the capacitance is not exceeding the specified max.capacitance load value of the product.3.The UVLO pin can adjust the point of input under-voltage protection by the external resistance RUVLO.Please refer to Fig.9for the value of RUVLO,if the pin is left open, the These portable, easy-to-use devices will read and record up to 32,767 temperature measurements. These data loggers represent a major leap in both size andperformance. The real-time clock ensures that all data is time and date stamped. The storage medium is nonvolatile solid state memory, providing maximum data security even if the battery becomes discharged. The small size of these devices allows them to fit almost anywhere.Data retrieval is simple. Plug either device into an empty COM port and our easy-to-use software does the rest.
