宾语从句在带宾语从句的复合句中,宾语从句前面一般要有连词(有的可省略)引导。
由that引出的宾语从句相当于陈述句;由whether/if引出的宾语从句相当于一般疑问句;由连接代词或连接副词引出的宾语从句相当于特殊疑问句。
但应该注意的是它们的语序都是陈述句语序。
主句是陈述句时,句末不用问号。
1.由从属述连词that引导的宾语从句。
在口语和新正式文体中常省略that。
例如:He said(that) he would be back.他说他将回来。
We knew (that) he had made a mistake.我们知道他犯了一个错误。
在某些be+形容词的结构后面也可以跟that引导的宾语从句。
例如:I am sure that I have posted the letter.我的确把那封信寄了.2.由连接代词who, whom, whose, what, which和连接副词when, where, why, how引导的宾语从句。
这些连接代词和连接副词在宾语从句中充当某个成分。
例如:Do you know who (whom) they are waiting foe?He asked whose handwriting was the best.Can you tell me where the No.3 bus stop is?3.由if或whether引导的宾语从句。
if和whether在句中的意思是―是否‖。
例如:I want to know if (whether) he lives there.He asked me whether (if) I could help him.宾语从句要点1.在三种类型的宾语从句中必须用陈述句的语序,即主语+谓语动词+其它成分,句末用句号;但主句为疑问句时,句末用问号。
2.在带有宾语从句的复合句中,要注意主句和从句的时态的呼应。
1)当主句的谓语动词是现在或将来时态时,从句的谓语动词可用任何需要的时态。

二. 宾语从句的语序宾语从句的连接词总是位于从句句首,从句用陈述句语序。

三. 宾语从句的引导词(1)that引导宾语从句时,无实际意义,不充当成分,只起引导作用,在口语中往往省略。
陈述句作宾语从句时用that引导。
例:We know (that) we should study hard.我们知道我们应该努力学习。
(2)whether/if引导宾语从句时,不充当任何成分,常放在动词(短语)know, ask, wonder, find out等后。
但含有“是否”之意,在句中不能省略,一般疑问句作宾语从句时用whether/if引导。
例:I don’t know whether/if my sister likes the present.我不知道我妹妹是否喜欢这份礼物。
(3)常见的连接代词有what, who, whom, whose, which等;常见的连接副词有when, where, how, why, how many,how much等。
特殊疑问句作宾语从句时用连接代词或连接副词引导。
例:I finally understand what he said.我终于明白他说的是什么了。

但在下列情况下只能用whether,不能用if:①在具有选择意义,又有or或or not时,尤其是直接与or not连用时,往往用whether (if…or not也可以使用)。
如:Let me know whether /if he will come or not.(=Let me know whether or not he will come)让我知道他是否能来。
I don't know whether /if he does any washing or not.(=I don't know whether or not he does any washing.)我不知道他洗不洗衣服。
I wonder whether we stay or whether wego.我不知道我们是去还是留。
②在介词之后用whether。
如:I'm interested in whether he likes English.我关心的是他是否喜欢英语。
We're thinking about whether we can finish the work on time.我们正在考虑是否能按时完成这项工作。
③在不定式前用whether。
如:He hasn't decided whether to visit the old man.他尚未决定是否拜访那位老人。
He hasn't decided whether to go by bus or by train.他还未决定是乘公共汽车去还是坐火车去。
④whether置于句首时,不能换用if。
如:Whether this is true or not,I can't say.这是否真的我说不上来。
⑤引导主语从句和表语从句时宜用whether。
如:Whether she will come or not is still a question.她是否能来还是个问题。
⑥若用if会引起歧义时,则用whether。
如:Please let me know if you like the book.可理解为:b.If you like the book,please let me know.你如果喜欢这本书,请告诉我只能用if不能用whether引导的宾语从句1、if引导条件状语从句,意为“如果”The students will go on a picnic if it is sunny.2、if引导否定概念的宾语从句时He asked if I didn’t come to school yesterday.3、引导状语从句even if(即使)和as if(好象)时He talks as if he has known all about it.连接代词和连接副词引导的宾语从句这样的宾语从句实际上是由特殊疑问句变化而来的,宾语从句要用陈述句语序。
用于这种结构的动词常常是:see, say, tell, ask, answer, know, decide, show, find out, imagine, suggest, doubt, wonder, discover, understand, inform, advise等。
②连接代词:who,whom,whose,which,what,在句中担任主语、宾语、定语或者表语。
