1. The analysis of the teaching material
•In this lesson, the students are going to read a passage about pandas. It tells the present situation of the pandas and people’s efforts to protect them. And in further the passage mentions WWF and animals in danger. The learning of this lesson aims at getting the students to know the importance of protecting animals and some ways to protect animals. The key structure of this part is infinitives as object complements and adverbials of purpose.

•2. Ability objective ：Enable the students to skim for the main idea of the article, scan for the specific information, predict some information and understand the whole passage.

•The students are interested in animals and the ways to protect them. With common sense and previous learning, the students have known about many animals and something about some animals’ living condition. But the students are not clear about pandas’ situation and the efforts to protect them.

•Step 1: Warm up (Pre-reading) •At the beginning of the class, we will watch a short video about the situation the animals are in and the necessity of protecting animals. Then we will talk by answering the following questions: •Do you like animals? •What is your favourite animal? •Do they live in peace?
•3. Emotional objective ：Enhance the students’ awareness of protecting animals and learn some ways to protect them.

1. The analysis of the teaching material
•In this lesson, the students are going to read a passage about pandas. It tells the present situation of the pandas and people’s efforts to protect them. And in further the passage mentions WWF and animals in danger. The learning of this lesson aims at getting the students to know the importance of protecting animals and some ways to protect animals. The key structure of this part is infinitives as object complements and adverbials of purpose.
•设计意图：提供背景（background）信息，激发学生兴趣， 唤醒旧知，为获得新知做准备。
•2. Ability objective ：Enable the students to skim for the main idea of the article, scan for the specific information, predict some information and understand the whole passage.
•The students have learned the infinitives as objects, but they are not so familiar with infinitives as object complements and adverbials of purpose.
3. Teaching methods.
•In this lesson, I will use the concept of “B--P– S– R”, that is, Background– Problem– Solution– Result. •Task based method and communicative teaching method will be used.

2. The analysis of the students.
•The students are interested in animals and the ways to protect them. With common sense and previous learning, the students have known about many animals and something about some animals’ living condition. But the students are not clear about pandas’ situation and the efforts to protect them.
4. Teaching procedures.
•Step 1: Warm up (Pre-reading) •At the beginning of the class, we will watch a short video about the situation the animals are in and the necessity of protecting animals. Then we will talk by answering the following questions: •Do you like animals? •What is your favourite animal? •Do they live in peace?
•3. Emotional objective ：Enhance the students’ awareness of protecting animals and learn some ways to protect them.
