Teaching Goals:

1. Students are motivated to talk about the benefits of cars and the problems cars

cause. 2. Read the texts and find out the specific information.

3. Students are encouraged to speak out their opinions and know how to get rid of our

addiction to cars in our daily life

4. Cultivate students’ awareness of environmental protection

5. Students are expected to master an important reading skill---completing notes

Teaching important and difficult points:

1. Lead students to know some detailed information about problems cars bring about

as well as some helpful tips on how to give up the use of cars in our daily life

2. Help them know how to complete notes effectively and master this reading skill
