1.treasure n. 珠宝，财富（不可数）； 珍藏品（可数名词）；
Treasure Island 宝岛
They went there to look for treasure. 他们去那儿寻宝。
This museum has many art treasures. 这家博物馆收藏了许多艺术珍品。
Oliver Twist is about a boy who goes out to sea and finds an island full of treasures.

2.island 岛屿，可数名词，它是以元音音素开头的单词，若前有不定冠词应用an

There is an island in the middle of the river. 河中间有一座岛。
3.full of 满是…的，（有）丰富的
a song full of feelings一首充满感情的歌曲
an island full of treasures 一个满是宝藏的岛屿
（1）后边常常接名词，full of 与后边的名词一起构成后置定语，修饰前边的名词。full of 相当于filled with
the basket full of apples the cup filled with water .
This bottle full of milk is Lucy’s. 这个满是牛奶的瓶子是露西的。
（2） full of 前边也可以与be动词连用，在句中做谓语。be full of相当于be filled
with.
The classroom is full of students. = The classroom is filled with students.
The box is full of apples. = The box is filled with apples. The island is full of treasures. = The island is filled with treasures.
The area is full of beautiful lakes and rivers.
这个区域有大量美丽的湖泊和河流。
4. classic 经典著作，名著，此处用作可数名词
Journey to the West is one of the four great classics of ancient China.
西游记是中国古代四大名著之一。
classic还可以用作形容词,意为典型的;古典的
Do you like classic novels? 你喜欢古典小说吗？
5.page （书或纸张的）页，面，张,可数名词
表示在哪儿页用介词on， on page 5 在第五页上
表示第…页时，用page + 数字 page 18 18页 page 42 42页
I read it from the first page to the last page. 我把它从第一页读到最后一页。
Please return to page sixty. 请翻到第60页。
I haven’t finished reading it yet. I’m only on page 25.
我还没读完呢，我只读到第25页。
6.hurry 匆忙，赶快
Hurry! Hurry up! 快点,赶快! hurry to do sth. 匆忙地做某事；
in a hurry (n.) 匆忙地; hurry to+地点 “匆忙地赶到某地”；
7.hurry up 赶快，急忙（做某事） hurry，此处用作不及物动词，意为“匆忙，赶快”。
Hurry up， or you will be late. 快点儿，否则你会迟到的。
（1） hurry to加地点名词，意为“匆忙去某地”；hurry off /away意为“匆匆离去”。 The fans hurried to the train station. 粉丝们匆忙赶往火车站。
Miss zhao hurried off to look after the man.赵小姐匆匆赶去照看那个人。
（2） hurry用作名词，意为“匆忙；急忙”。
He went home in a hurry. 他匆匆忙忙回家了.
（3） hurry to do sth. 匆忙做某事，相当于go to do sth. in a hurry
After supper, he hurried to watch the football match.
=After supper, he went to watch the football match in a hurry.
晚饭后，他匆忙去看足球比赛
8.due 预期的，到期的
（1） due形容词，意思是“预定；预期；预计”， 通常用作表语,后边引出预期的时间、地点等。
（2） be due (to do sth.)或be due (for sth.) “意为预计做某事”
I am due to speak tomorrow. 我预定明天讲话。(不是将来时）
Her baby is due next month. 它的宝宝预计下个月出生。
The guests are due to arrive very soon. 客人们很快就会到。
You are due for a medical examination next month. 你的身体检查预定在下个月。
（3）due to “由于” a mistake due to carelessness由于粗心而犯的错误
9.ship 船 可数 ，by ship=by sea
I’ve found the ship and made a small boat.
10.tool 工具 可数
English is a tool of communication. 英语是交流的一种工具。
11.gun 炮，枪 可数 I’ve brought back many things I can use---food and drink, tools ，knives and guns.
我带回了很多可以使用的东西---吃的和喝的、工具、刀和枪。
12.mark
（1）记号；用作可数名词，the marks of one’s feet某人的脚印；
His wet feet left marks on the floor. 他的湿脚丫在地板上留下了痕迹。
Please make a mark! 请做个记号吧!
（2）用作可数名词，意为“分数”
He got 80 marks in English. 她英语得了80分。
（3）可用作及物动词，意为“作记号；打分”
He marked the important sentences with a red pen.
她用红笔标出了重要的句子。
13.sand 沙滩，沙
on the sand在沙滩上,其中sand为名词,指细小的沙粒,用作不可数名词。
指大片的沙滩时，用作可数名词。
There are some children playing with sand on the sand.
沙滩上有一些孩子在玩沙子。
14.cannibal 食人肉者；同类相残的，凶残的
I saw some cannibals trying to kill two men from a broken ship.
我看到一些食人肉者试图杀死两个来自破船上的人。
15.towards 用作介词,向着，朝着，对于,关于, 美式英语中写作toward
run towards 朝向……跑
They drive towards the beach. 他们驾车朝海滩开去。 towards指表示“向着某个方向”，没有“到达”之意
She walked towards the river. 他朝着那条河走去。
to常跟在动词go， come ，return，move等之后,表示“向，往”，
有“到达”之意
He moved to Beijing last year. 去年他搬去了北京。
16. land （1）用作不可数名词，陆地，大地，与sea相对
常用短语:a piece of land 一块陆地；by land/sea 由陆/海路；
on land 在陆地上；in the sea在海里；
When did you come to land？你什么时候抵达陆地的？
（2）用做不可数名词，,意为“耕作的土地”
He works on the land for fifty years. 他从事耕作50年了。
（3）用作不及物动词，意为“着陆；降落”，反义词组为take off起飞，
The plane landed safely.飞机安全降落。
17.fiction n.小说，虚构，编造 不可数 novel（长篇）小说;
fiction的基本意思是“小说(总称)”,是区别于诗歌、散文、戏剧、传记等的一种体裁; 可指长篇、中篇、短篇等各种小说; fiction当作一种体裁解时不可数,当表示具体作品时可数。
Is it fact or fiction? 这是事实还是虚构？
Real life is sometimes stranger than fiction. 现实生活有时比小说还离奇。
18.science fiction 科幻小说
Her favorite kind of books is science fiction.
