Unit 12 Life is full of the unexpected. (Period 1)Section A (1a2d)教材分析本单元话题是“难以预料的事情”(Unexpected events )。
本节课是本单元的第一节课,是一节听说课,要求学生能够运用相关词汇来描述过去发生的令人意想不到的事情,同时通过听说训练,初步感知一般过去时和过去完成时的区别,并运用适当的时态叙述过去发生的事情。
教学目标学完这一课,学生能够掌握:1.词汇:unexpected、by the time ...、backpack、oversleep、give ... a lift;2.能力:运用相关词汇描述过去发生的令人意想不到的事情;从对话中提取主要信息;3.交际功能:使用“By the time I got up, my brother had already gotten in the shower.”“When I got to school, I realized I had left my backpack at home.”“I kept sleeping, and when I woke up it was already 8:00 a.m.!”“Before I got to the bus stop, the bus had already left.”等句型讲述过去发生的事情。
教学重点1.重点词汇:unexpected、by the time ...、backpack、oversleep、give ... a lift;2.重点句型:when、before、by the time 等引导的时间状语从句表达过去发生的事情;3.能力:运用适当的时态叙述过去发生的事情。
教学难点初步感知一般过去时和过去完成时的区别,并运用适当的时态叙述过去发生的事情。
教学过程新课导入教师通过“Maybe during our school days, we are sometimes late for school. Have you everbeen late for school? Can you tell me why? And what happened to you that day?”导入本节课的内容,让学生自由谈论有关“上学迟到”的话题,为后面的学习作准备。

2.0Student analysis学情分析2.1 Fundamental State基本情况本单元的教学应为九年级下期内容,学生已经进入了初中阶段的最后一个学期,既紧张而忙碌的学生生活。
本单元的中心话题是学会运用过去时态来描述过去发生的事情,重点是过去完成时态。
因此,可以通过回忆过去发生的事情来给学生做一些心理调整,让学生能勇敢地面对过去发生的事情,同时也能勇敢面对即将到来的中考。
2.2 Knowledge Reserve知识储备通过两年的学习和积累,学生积累了一定的词汇量,接触到了常见的话题和功能项目。
特别是Book 7B Unit 11 How was your school trip?与Unit 12 What did you do last weekend?中一般过去时态的关于过去的事情话题和功能项目的学习,为本节课谈论过去发生的事情,以及从听力中捕捉有关学习过去发生的信息奠定了知识基础。
2.3 Class data本班实际本班学生有比较明确的学习目的,能够在小组活动中互相帮助,积极与他人合作,敢于用英语进行表达。
本课时谈论the past things、your school day,话题内容贴近学生、贴近生活,学生熟悉,有话可说,教师应该尽量创设情景,拓展思路,必要时帮助学生用英语进行准确表达。
