课文主要介绍足球运动员李华的有关情况，并以此为基础组织学生谈论自己喜欢的运动员，目的是让学生了解描写一个人应从哪些方面入手，为后面的写作做准备。

因为听力有一定难度，应注意做好听前铺垫。

事先可组织学生阅读课本材料，适当增加听的次数，以降低难度。

“听”后可以开展采访等多种形式的活动，帮助学生巩固知识，提高运用能力。

Speak up部分的教学应注重输出，尽可能给学生提供说的机会。
