格莱美奖是什么格莱美奖(Grammy Awards，简称Grammys)，美国录音界与世界音乐界最重要的音乐奖项之一，由国家录音艺术与科学学院(National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences，NARAS)颁发。

“格莱美”(GRAMMY)是英文Gramophone(留声机)的变异谐音。

1957年，美国洛杉矶一批音乐人和唱片公司管理人员倡议成立一个代表音乐制品艺术和科学的机构，并通过这个机构鼓励有才华的音乐家、歌手及幕后音乐制作人员。

美国国家录音艺术与科学学会(简称录音学会)及名为格莱美的音乐奖因此诞生。

首届格莱美音乐奖于1958年颁发，以后录音学会每年举行一次颁奖仪式，奖项也由最初时的26项增加到28大类共101项。

美国当地时间2011年4月6日，美国录音艺术科学院宣布，2012年起将把格莱美音乐奖(Grammy Awards)奖项从原本的109个减为78个。

格莱美是世界范围内最具影响力的音乐大奖之一，被誉为“音乐界的奥斯卡”，由美国国家录音与科学学会举行的一个年度大型音乐评奖活动。

格莱美奖的评选程序一、提名由所有的成员推荐在规定年度(前年九月到翌年九月)内优秀的录音出版品(包括音乐录影带)，可是因为每年的唱片发行数量实在太大，为免除遗珠之撼，所以各唱片公司在提名阶段也可推荐一些旗下艺人被忽略的作品给格莱美，前几年琼安·奥斯朋的《Relish》就是在唱片公司力保之下，才受到广泛的注意。
