商务信函要求语言表达严谨准确,但在商务信函中恰当使用 模糊语言,可以使语言表达更加客观准确、灵活生动、礼貌 得体。

一般指卖方通过某些途径查询买方的信用 情况和业务能力，由于双方初次进行贸 易合作，互不了解，卖方可以要求买方 提供信用资料，以便查询买方的信用状 况。
此类信函语气非常委婉，不要让对方产生 不被信任感。

主要用来向商务伙伴提供有关公司、产品规格、 性能、价格、付款、装运、保险等方面的信息 商务信函的信息功能不可忽视。在提供有关的 信息同时，主要是促成对方采取行动，如购买 产品、支付货款等，所以商务信函具有祈使功 能。
商务信函是商务往来双方联系业务、 交流信息、洽谈磋商、解决问题的 重要有效手段；还具有法律价值， 书面记录通常要备案存档，成为商 务往来双方“权利、义务的规定和 解决争端的法律依据”（张新红， 李明，2003：159）
