Step3. Thankful Heart
Learn the story of American Thanksgiving Day.
1. Watch a video and answer the question.

T: When they were hungry and cold, American Native
Indians helped them. It’s time to give food back. It’s time to give 3 thanks. Gradually Thanksgiving Day becomes a traditionally holiday.

【意图】:感恩节是美国合家欢聚的节日,是贯穿整个课堂的主线。观看视频“美国感恩节的由来”,受迫害的清教徒在危急时刻得到了当地印第安人的帮助,在丰收时刻举行狂欢活动聊表感激之情。适时渗透西方感恩节文化,帮助学生更好的理解与运用语言,提高学生的英语学习兴趣。

【意图】:教材第23、24页的原活动为制作Greeting card, 我将其设计为制作感恩节卡片活动,共分7个环节完成。在小组活动中学生能积极与他人合作,共同完成学习任务,能积极运用所学英语进行表达与交流。在小组核查及借问制作卡片的材料中,学生能根据表格对自己组内所拥有的及所需要的物品进行陈述,并向其他组进行询问与借问;充分融合本单元所学语言知识进行综合性的运用。
