英语状语从句
状语从句指的是一个从句，它起到状语的作用，承担状语的句子叫主句。状语从句从位置上可分为时间状语从句、地点状语从句、原因状语从句、结果状语从句、方式状语从句、条件状语从句等。
一、时间状语从句
时间状语从句常用的连词有：when, while, since, as soon
as, before, after, till, until 等。
1．when: 此连词引导的时间状语从句，表示发生在主句动作之前的动作。
When the bell rang, the meeting was over.当钟声响起，会议就结束了。
2．while: 此连词引导的时间状语从句，表示两个动作同时发生。
While I was cleaning the room, Helen was cooking. 我在打扫房间的时候，海伦正在做饭。
3．since: 此连词引导的时间状语从句，表示动作发生以后的某一段时间以来一直持续的情况。
I've been here since noon. 从中午以来，我一直在这儿。
4．as soon as: 此连词引导的时间状语从句，表示动作发生在特定条件成就以后马上，立刻发生的情况。 - 2 - As soon as I get the money, I'll buy the tickets. 一得到钱我就买票。
5．before: 此连词引导的时间状语从句，表示动作发生在特定条件成就以前。
Before leaving, I'll mail the letter. 我离开以前，先寄信。
6．after: 此连词引导的时间状语从句，表示动作发生在特定条件成就以后。
After the snow, the road became slippery. 雪后，路变得很滑了。
7．till (or until): 此连词引导的时间状语从句，表示动作发生在特定条件成就（主句动作）以前但较靠近那个时候发生的延续性动作。
Wait here till I return. 等我回来之前你就在这里等着吧。
二、地点状语从句
地点状语从句由where, wherever, wherever 引导，表示动作发生的地点。
1．where: 此连词引导的地点状语从句，表示动作发生的具体地点。
Where I live there are many tall buildings. 在我居住的地方有许多高楼。
2．wherever: 此连词引导的地点状语从句，表示动作发生的不 - 3 - 一定的地点，强调的是范围。
Whenever I go, I'll take picture with me. 无论我去哪里，我都会把照相机带去。
3．anywhere: 此连词也引导的地点状语从句，表示动作发生的不一定的地点，强调的时无所不在。
Anywhere you go, you can buy bread. 不管你去哪里都可以买到面包。
三、原因状语从句
原因状语从句由because, since, now that, as, for 引导，表示原因。
1．because: 此连词引导的原因状语从句，表示理由。
I can't have lunch because I'm busy. 因为我忙，所以我没有吃午饭。
2．since: 此连词引导的原因状语从句，表示结论、推断。
Since he's late, he must have missed the train. 由于他迟到，他恐怕错过了火车。
3．now that: 此连词引导的原因状语从句，表示现在的情况或发生的事实。
Now that school has started, I will have to get up
earlier. 既然学校开学了，我不得不早起了。
4．as: 此连词引导的原因状语从句，表示同外部因素有关的原因。 - 4 - It rained hard all night, as it often does at this time
