Why is a space left between the rails of a railway line where one piece joins the next?
1)Some parts of the water are very shallow. But in some places it is very very___________.A. deepB. highC. coldD. dangerous根据转折连词but的提示,所填入的词应与shallow相反,因此答案为A。
2)Mrs O’Neill asked_______questions and she didn’t scold us either.A. noB. certainC. manyD. moreand是一个并列连词;either为副词,用在否定句或否定词后加强语势,由此可以确定所填的词也应是一个否定意义的词,因此答案是A。
QQ872969615It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80s came to the hospital. I heard him saying to the nurse that he was in a hurry for appointment(约会)at 9:30.
The nurse had him take a 36 in the waiting area, 37 him it would be at least 40 minutes 38 someone would be able to see him . I saw him 39 his watch and decided, since I was 40 busy-my patient didn’t 41 at the appointed hour , I would examine his wound. While taking care of his wound , I asked him if he had another doctor’s appointment.
The gentleman said no and told me that he 42 to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his 43 .He told me that she had been 44 for a while and that she had a special disease, I asked if she would be 45 if he was a bit late. He replied that she 46 knew who he was ,that she had not been able to 47 him for five years now. I was 48 and asked him,” And you 49 go every morning, even though she doesn’t know who you are?”

下面仅以词语辨异为例总结如下:1、night/eveningnight指the time of darkness between evening and morning;而evening 指the time between sunset and bedtime.2、know/learn/noticeknow知道;熟悉learn 听说;认识到;了解notice 注意到3、sound/cry/voice/shout/noisesound 泛指各种声音cry,voice,shout一般都指人的声音noise 指噪音4、take place 预料中的发生;happen意料外的发生;occur 两者兼有What happened to(became of)you?你发生了什么事?5、anxious/eager/worried/hurried/nervousanxious 渴望的(eager);担心的(worried )hurried匆忙的nervous 神经紧张的6、admire/enjoyadmire oneself自我欣赏enjoy oneself玩得高兴7、fun/joke/trickfun和joke都有开玩笑之意,fun不可数,joke是可数名词、前面要加不定冠词a play /a joke on sb. 开某人的玩笑;a practical joke=a trick恶作剧;play a trick on sb.
8、wonder/imagine/notice/examinewonder想知道;imagine想象;notice 注意到;examine 考查9、way/means/methodmeans[常用作单]方法;手段,工具; a means to an end达到目的方法;method方法、办法,与way 可以替换使用。
