直译
直译是既忠实于原文内容又忠实于原文形式的一种翻译方法。随着对外开放和对 外交往的不断扩大和深入，一些具有中国特色的词汇早已被外国读者了解和接受 。为保留其语言风格，做到形神兼备，这种词汇应采用“直译”的方法。 例如： 1.我们深入开展"三严三实"专题教育，锲而不舍落实党中央八项规定精神，坚决纠 正"四风"，严格执行国务院"约法三章"。加强行政监察和审计监督。 "三严三实" ：the Three Stricts and Three Honests 。它是指“既严以修身、严 以用权、严以律己；又谋事要实、创业要实、做人要实”。 这词早在2014年提出 ，已被多次引用，中外读者对此已无异议，且直译能够使得译文形式简洁、概括 性强，便于记忆。 2.采取兼并重组、债务重组或破产清算等措施，积极稳妥处置"僵尸企业"。 僵尸企业：zombie enterprises。它是指那些无望恢复生气，但由于获得放贷者 或政府的支持而免于倒闭的负债企业。这词无论是在中国读者还是在外国读者心 中，都有相同的意象，相同的理解，能够做到望文生义，因此直译是最佳选择。
意译
由于不同民族的语言、宗教、地域等方面的文化差异，直译不会被外国 读者所接受。而意译可以充分表达出该词语的内在含义，弥补外国读者相应 背景知识的欠缺，实现信息传播和交流的目的。同时也起到对外宣传的作用 。 例如： 1.健全督查问责机制，坚决整肃庸政懒政怠政行为，决不允许占着位子 不干事。 占着位子不干事：people who are on the government payroll but do not perform their duties.占着位子不干事是非常具有中国特色的词语 ，直译会让读者不知所云，应该结合语境，这里的意思是官员在其位不谋其 事，因此意译贴切到位。 2.各级政府要依法接受同级人大及其常委会的监督，自觉接受人民政协 的民主监督，接受社会和舆论监督，让权力在阳光下运行。 让权力在阳光下运行：so as to exercise power in an open and transparent way.将“权力”和“阳光”这两个不相关的词放在一起，读者 会产生困惑，将“阳光”这个意象化的词具体化，能非常准确地表达出它的 深层含义。
