选修六Unit 2(每日词汇)指人的名词bride[braid]n.新娘记“意”笔记:bride 与bread “面包”;brew “酿造”同源。
可以理解为在家里烤面包、酿酒的都是女人。
bridegroom[ˈbraidgru:m]n.新郎记“意”笔记:字形上有“room”,现在结婚都需要男方准备房子。
所以,bridegroom 为新郎。
librarian[laiˈbrɛəriən]n.图书馆馆长;图书馆管理员记“意”笔记:liber 树皮。
因为古时候没有纸,文字都是写在树皮上。
所以liber慢慢就有了书的意思。
-ary指地方。
举例:factory工厂;gallery美术馆;brewery酿酒厂。
于是,library = liber-ary = 放书的地方= 图书馆。
librarian 就是library的变形。
pianist[pi'ænist]n.钢琴家;钢琴演奏者记“意”笔记:piano钢琴。
ist 某方面有特殊才能的人。

实在不行,把它放入熟悉的广告词中,“安慕希is the only sponsor”。
squire[skwaiə]n.乡绅记“意”笔记:读音“四块”= 田。
延伸为拥有四块田的人,那就是乡绅。
然后再想到绅士。
