Good morning, all the judges. It’s my great honor to be here to present my lesson. I’m contestant number1. Today I’ll talk about part 1 of unit 6 friends, and my content is made up of 8 parts. 1.analysis of the teaching material. 2.analysis of the students for English learning. 3.teaching aims 4. important, difficult points. 5. teaching aids 6.Teaching methods 7.Teaching procedure 8.the design of blackboard Well firstly, I’ll talk about part 1, analysis of the teaching material. This lesson is mainly about friends. The topic is related to our life, so it’s easy to arouse student’s interest. As we all know, interest is the best teacher for students to learn new things.

Then, I’ll talk about part 2, analysis of the students for English learning. They are of grade 5, they’ve learned English for 2 years, so they can understand some easy words and simple sentences. Unlike high school students, the primary school students are more active, and more curious about new things, so I’ll design some interesting activities to attract their attentions. Next, I’ll talk about teaching aims, including knowledge aims, ability aims and emotional aims. Knowledge aims are to enable students to master new words, phrases, and the sentence’s pattern. In this part, there are several words that the students may not familiar with is music, sport, spider, and rat. Meanwhile, the sentence pattern: he/she is ; his/her name is; he/she is my best friend; are also quite essential to be mastered.

Ability aims are to improve students’ speaking and listening ability, they can use words and phrases to talk about something in their real life.

Emotional aims are to develop the spirit of cooperation by pair work and competition. The topic of this unit is about friends, so I’ll let the students know that friends are very important , when we feel upset, we talk to our friends; and when we are happy, we share the joy with them. So we need to treat our friends in a kind and friendly way. Well, the next is about important and difficult points. important and difficult points are to develop students’ speaking and listening ability, and master the usage of key sentences correctly. And the 5 part is teaching aids. ppt, pictures, and tape recorder are needed for my teaching.

Another part is teaching methods. In this lesson, I’ll mainly use TPR, task-based teaching methods and situational approach to do my English teaching; and using different ways can make the class atmosphere active.

Now I’ll talk about the most significant part—teaching procedure which includes 5 steps .

Step 1 warming up It will cost 5 minutes. Firstly, I’ll play the tape and ask the students listen to the music and sing the song Ninety-nine Bananas a Day in unit 2 together. And quote the lyrics as the greetings: Come on, everybody. Listen to my song. I’ve got a wonderful, wonderful friend. In this way, students will pay their attention to our class easily, and their speaking ability will be improved. Besides, it can form a relaxing atmosphere and let the students get ready for the next step.

Step 2presentation It will cost about 20 minutes. 1. firstly, I’ll let the students to talk about their own hobbies and use the sentence pattern “I like…” for example, I’ll ask: hello, Mary, What’s your favourite colour? Mary will answer back: I like yellow…

2. then, I’ll ask them try to talk about other people’s hobbies and learn to use the sentence pattern: He/She likes… Such as: T: Hi, Peter. What’s Mary’s favourite color? P: She likes yellow. T: That’s right. She likes yellow. Mary likes yellow.

3. next, the students could talk about their real best friend by using: He/She likes… His/Her name is… He/She’s my best friend.

After the conversation exercising, I’ll guide the students back to the book. I’ll say that: hello, everyone. I’ve got two best friends. Do you want to know their names and what their favourite things are? Ok, I’ll show you some pictures.(and I'll show these words in an order from the old to the new words.) Old words: books—dogs—frogs—cars—caps—cats—kites-- butterflies New words: music—sport—spiders—rats

I’ll play the tape for 2 times, and after their listening, I’ll say , T: Now you know who are my best friends. The students can get the answer easily. Ss: Yes. Linda and Terry.

Then I’ll guide them to do the exercise. The pupils have to put a blue circle around the things that Linda likes and a red circle around the things that Terry likes.
