从教材编排来看，七年级上册第二单元是学生在学了如何介绍自我之后紧接着学习如何介绍与他们日常生活中最为熟悉的人——家庭成员。从自我介绍到家庭成员的介绍这样过渡自然，使他们在课堂上有话说，有东西写。本单元通过谈论“家庭”的话题，学习“介绍人物、识别人物”，学生学会运用指示代词：This
is my sister. That is my friend. These are my parents. Those are her
grandparents.介绍家庭成员, 学会运用人称代词询问人物Who’s he ? He is my
brother. Who’re they? They’re my parents。通过以上几个方面的学习, 使学生能够以写信谈论照片的方式来了解家庭成员，学会用英语介绍、识别不同的家庭成员；既能促使学生了解自己的家庭成员，增进家庭和睦，又能促进学生彼此之间的了解，增进友谊。
