Notes 1. How may I help you, sir? 2. I’m sorry, but they are all sold out. sold out 售罄,已售完 e.g. Five of the items enquired about in your fax are sold out. We’re sold out of your size. 3. How do you like this one?It has a light blue background with Chinese paintings of flowers. May I know who it is for? 4. This one is so attractive. I’m sure he will like it, sir. We Chinese prefer a pair of vases to one vase, as the number “two” is believed to bring good luck. 5. Can you pack and deliver them for me? *pack v. 包装(货物);整理(行装) e.g. Please pack these goods in a case. We packed the books before we moved. She packed a small suitcase with the things she needed for the weekend. e.g. Thousands of visitors are packing into the Garden Show every hour. e.g. The soldiers had to carry their heavy packs across rough ground. Mary took a pack of cards from the drawer and we all sat down to play. *deliver v. 交付,投递 e.g. The shop is delivering our new bed on Thursday. e.g. The next postal delivery is at four o’clock. 6. I’ll show you to the cashier.
