2. The Dragon Boat Festival, also called the Duanwu
Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. For thousands of years, the festival has been marked (一直以来,以...为标志) by eating zong zi and racing dragon boats. The festival is best known for its dragon-boat races, especially in the southern provinces where there are many rivers and lakes. This Regatta (赛舟会) is given honour to the memory of the death of Qu Yuan.

Mary: I don’t know…I kind of like to have more people around. It makes things more exciting. Bill: That’s true. Oh, and I really liked eating zongzi. Mary: Oh, me too! The sweet ones are my favorite. Bill: I wonder if they’ll have the races again next year. Mary: Of course! They have them every year. Bill: Then I believe that I’ll be back again next year to watch the races! Mary: Me, too!
