Student Use of Computers
According to the chart/table/graph/picture, we can learn that / it is clear that the number of hours a student spends on computers per week has grown rapidly in recent years. The chart shows, from 1990 to 1995, the average hours a student spent on computers in every week were only doubled. However, in 2000, the number grew to 20 hours, which was five times as many as that in 1995.
There are many reasons contributing to this tremendous growth. First of all, the contributing development of technology brings down the price of computers, which enables many students to own one. This inevitably encourages students to spend more time on computers. Moreover, the knowledge provided on Internet is so rich that students can’t move their eyes from it. In addition, more and more academic works are asked to be done through computers. As a result, it goes without saying that students spend more and more time on computers.
As far as I am concerned,there are still problems in students’ use of computers. For one thing, since students did not receive computer education at an early age, they sometimes cannot have enough skills to command computers. For another, students who do not have high self-disciplines may abandon themselves to computer, which will greatly affect their academic achievement.
