楼主的原话:

Spring is around the corner. (or should I say summer, since spring
is too mini to be defined as a season here in Shanghai.) I begin
to be annoyed by the extra fat on my waist. After a long winter
and a spring festival packed with so many family dinners, my weight
broke the history record again! What the hell! Therefore, these
days I am determined to make a diet plan to help me get rid of
the fat.
Here comes the problem: What kind of method should I follow? I did try
many ways to lose weight before. All of them have cons and pros.

The simplest way would be going on a diet. Most people follow this
practice for its low cost. I’ve tried this way, too. Usually, I will skip my
supper, but make sure having a nutritious breakfast. At the beginning, you
will be surprised at the speed of losing weight. However, after one or two
weeks, it stops making progress. I call it as a bottleneck period. You will be
suffered from both disappointment and horrible starving feelings. Most
people will be stricken down and finally give up during this period. Only
those with strong will and power are able to get through the affliction.
Obviously, I’m not one of them.

Compared to what’s mentioned above, workout is a much healthier way to
lose weight and keep fit. Fortunately, I am a sportive girl. So I choose to be
enrolled in a gym club and do some workout at least 3 days a week. There
are lots of curriculums available, of which Yoga, Jazz dance and Stepper
machine are my favorites. I insist on doing this for nearly 6 months. I do
have fun there when I release the energy and get sweat. I feel getting
stronger not only physically but mentally. However, good times don’t last
long. I put on more weight than I used to be after I stopped training. Then I
was told that once you start doing exercises, you don’t stop. Otherwise, the
fat will revenge. Why there’s no one telling me earlier?

The last way that I haven’t tried yet sounds a little frightening. It becomes
prevalent lately in my office. It’s a Chinese therapy – Acupuncture. It’s said
that your desire for food will be cut down by stimulating certain
acupuncture point. The biggest challenge is that you couldn’t eat food for
the first 3 days of the process. But the result is quite aspiring. One of my
colleagues loses 5 kg after her first phase therapy, which is a great
temptation for me.

I know most girls are keen on this topic. How do you think of losing weight?
Do you have any good practice, more feasible and healthier, or any
experience to share? For guys, what’s your opinion on this issue?
