I did some deep breaths to try and stay calm like my yoga teacher showed us.The first part of the test was listening. The teachers played audio recordings of people talking and there were questions we had to answer about what they said. I've practiced a lot with those kinds of exercises, but it was still pretty hard with all the background noise of the kids shuffling around. I just tried to focus as best as I could.Next up was the reading part. We had passages to read and then had to answer comprehension questions about them. One of the passages was about koalas which was pretty cool since I love koalas! But some of the vocabulary was pretty difficult. Whenever I got stuck on a word, I reread the sentence before and after it to try and figure it out based on context clues.We got a short break to eat snacks and go to the bathroom after the reading part. I had brought an orange from home and it gave me a burst of energy to re-focus. Oranges are the best!Then we had to do the writing section. We had to write a short essay responding to a prompt. The prompt was "What is your favorite outdoor activity and why?" I chose to write aboutplaying soccer because it's my absolute favorite thing to do when I'm not at school. I made sure to include descriptive details like how it feels to run down the field chasing the ball and how fun it is to score a goal.The very last part was speaking. We had to go one-by-one to a different room with a teacher and answer some questions they asked out loud. The teacher asked me stuff like "What are your hobbies?" and "What do you like to do on the weekends?" Speaking is probably the hardest part of English for me, so I was a little nervous. But I just imagined I was talking to a friend and after a couple minutes, I started feeling more comfortable.After what felt like a reeeeally long time, the test was finally over! I was so tired but really proud of myself for getting through it all. My parents gave me a big hug when I came out. Then we went out for my favorite dumplings to celebrate being done. Dumplings always make me feel better!A couple weeks later, I got my test scores back in the mail. I didn't get a perfect score, but I did pretty well! All that hard work and practice paid off. My parents were so proud of me and took me out for ice cream to celebrate. The test might have been hard, but getting to go on an ice cream date with my mom and dad was the best reward.Now I feel a lot more confident about my English skills. That test might have been tough, but I showed that I could push through even when things are difficult. Who knows, maybe I'll grow up to be an English teacher someday! Although I do kind of want to be a zookeeper so I can hang out with koalas all day...I've got some time to decide. But no matter what, studying hard and giving my best effort will help me achieve my dreams!。
