浙江宁波市2016高考英语阅读理解(二轮)基础选练(1)及答案【2015高考复习】阅读理解During the school year many parents take on the role of driver as they drive their children from one lesson to another。
Understandably so。
Many of us want our children to have a little taste of everything, from organized sports to music, dance and more. But we can overdo it,leaving our children feeling a little burnt out,and according to parent educator Diane Loisie,it's their school work that suffers the most,“After school,if they’re busy in a number of sporting events, besides, they need to do their homework, then the time they’ll feel sleepy is in the classroom.Your child needs free time。
So if you're filling up that after school time, then it's during the day they’re going to be taking a break。
”Professor Claire McDe rmott agrees that there’s a lot to be gained from sometimes putting those scheduled lessons and activities away.“Relaxing time is important for children。
L 任务型阅读L[2016·浙江卷]A. Get involved in student activitiesB. Your voice is actually super importantC. There is a significant increase of opportunitiesD. Stay in active communication with your friendsE.Get smart about the people who you spend your time withF.Your major does not matter as much in your first year of collegeFive things nobody told me about collegeAs I type this, I am in my university dorm room. A year ago, when I was awaiting to hear the results of my college applications, I often went to websites for some type of insider look on what college would be like. However, there's only so much that prep books, websites, and older friends can teach. Here are the top 5 things nobody told me about college:61.________Nobody entering a university knows exactly what they want to study. If they tell you otherwise, they're lying and will probably change what they want to pursue within the first quarter of attendance. During my first quarter at University of California, Riverside (UCR),I thought that I wanted to study Political Science with its focus on International Affairs, so that's what I applied for. However, once I worked with statewide and local government, I realized that a better fit for me would be Public Policy, and now I am in the process of changing my area.62.________In college, there are so many good chances for you to meet your expectations. However, there is a very important difference between wanting to do something and applying for something. In order for you to take full advantage of the conferences, research, internships(实习), and fellowships that your university offers, apply! Step into your academic advisor's office, introduce yourself, and begin making the valuable connections that are necessary to help during the rest of your college career. Great things happen when you step out of your comfort zone, and you would be surprised on how many chances exist if you just ask.63.________College is where you meet your bridesmaids, groomsmen, neighbours, and potential bosses. The relationships you develop now will probably be linked to the ones you value later, so be wise about the people who you invest yourself in. You are only one person, and you do not have time to waste on people who would rather cause drama or mess up with your purpose. Surround yourself with uplifting individuals who challenge you to be better while loving you for who you are, and be patient to the people who are the complete opposite of that description.64.________As a firstyear, I was afraid to make any noise towards campus issues that I noticed. It was not until I became involved in student government that I gained the confidence to handle projects that I created with the help of ASUCR Office of the President. During my first quarter, I spoke directly to the Chancellor(校长), asking him for support towards my initiatives(提议), met with the Vice Chancellors, and cooperated with my teaching assistants to begin my undergraduate research project. Nothing good will happen when you are silent.65.________At my high school, there were about only four active clubs and organizations that studentscould be a part of.Imagine my surprise when I stepped foot onto UCR's campus, where over 400 organizations exist, ranging from political organizations to karate club. You are not paying all of your tuition(学费) to merely go to class, study, pass tests and graduate.Make something worthy out of your experience.Create stories that you will want to tell your grandchildren one day.It all begins here,by signing up to join an organization.[解析]61. 阅读下列短文, 从给的四个选项 (A、B、C和D) 中, 选出最佳选项。
English as a Foreign LanguageWho taught you to speak English? Your parents, while you were a young child? Yourteachers at school? Perhaps even the BBC as a grown-up.Whoever it was, somehow you have developed anunderstanding of what is rapidly becoming a truly globallanguage. There are now about 376 million people who speakEnglish as their first language, and about the same number who have learnt it in addition to their mother tongue. There are said to be one billion people learning English now and about 80% of the information on the Internet is in English. Is this a good thing, or a bad thing? Should we celebrate the fact that more and more of us can communicate, using a common language, across countries and cultures? Or should we worry about the dangers of“mono-culturalism”, a world in which we all speak the same language, eat the same food and listen to the same music?Does it matter if an increasing number of people speak the same language? On the contrary, I would have thought-although I have never accepted the argument that if only we all understood each other better, there would be fewer wars. Ask the people of India(where many of them speak at least some English)and Pakistan(the same situation with India). . .If we all speak English, will we then all start eating McDonald’s burgers? Surely not. If English becomes more dominant(占主导地位的), will it kill other languages?I doubt it. When I travel in Africa or Asia, I am always surprised by how many people can speak not only their own language but often one or more other related languages, as well as English and perhaps some French or German as well. When we discussed this on Talking Point a couple of years ago, we receive d a wonderfully poetic email from a listener in Ireland. “The English language is a beautiful language. Maybe it’s like a rose, ”he said. “But who would ever wanttheir garden just full of rose? ”Well, I love roses, and I think they make a beautiful addition to any garden. But the way I see it, just by planting a few roses, you don’t necessarily need to pull out everything else. If more and more people want to plant English roses, that’s fine by me.【文章大意】作者以独特的视角分析了英语的发展前景和人们的种种顾虑。

浙江温州市2016高考英语阅读理解(二轮)选练(7)含答案【2014高考英语四川省凉山州一模试题】There are two basic ways to see growth:one as a product, the other as a process。
Peoplehave generally viewed personal growth as an external(外部的)result or product that can easily beidentified and measured。
The worker who gets a promotion, the student whose grades improve, theforeigner who learns a new language-all these are examples of people who have measurableresults to show for their effortsBy contrast, the process of personal growth is much more difficult to determine, since bydefinition it is a journey and not the specific signposts or landmarks along the way。
The process isnot the road itself, but rather the attitudes and feelings people have, their caution or courage, asthey go through new experiences and unexpected obstacles。
In this process, the journey neverreally ends;there are always new ways to experience the world, new ideas to try,new challengesto accept。
2016年浙江高考英语阅读理解C翻译和解析A scientist working at her lab bench and a six-old baby playing with his food might seem to have little in common. After all, the scientist is engaged in serious research to uncover the very nature of the physical world, and the baby is, well, just playing…right? Perhaps, but some developmental psychologists have argued that this “play” is more like a scientific investigation than one might think.Take a closer look at the baby playing at the table. Each time the bowl of rice is pushed over the table edge, it falls in the ground---and, in the process, it belongs out important evidence about how physical objects interact; bowls of rice do not flood in mid-sit, but require support to remain stable. It is likely that babies are not born knowing the basic fact of the universe; nor are they ever clearly taught it. Instead, babies may form an understanding of object support through repeated experiments and then build on this knowledge to learn even more about how objects interact. Though their ranges and tools differ, the baby’s investigation and the scientist’s experiment appear to share the same aim (to learn about the natural world ), overall approach (gathering direct evidence from the world), and logic (are my observations what I expected?).Some psychologists suggest that young children learn about more than just the physical world in this way---that they investigate human psychology and the rules of language using similar means. For example, it may only be through repeated experiments, evidence gathering, and finally overturning a theory, that a baby will come to accept the idea that other people can have different views and desires from what he or she has, for example, unlike the child , Mommy actually doesn’t like Dove chocolate.Viewing childhood development as a scientific investigation throws on how children learn, but it also offers an inspiring look at science and scientists. Why do young children and scientists seem to be so much alike? Psychologists have suggested that science as an effort ---the desire to explore, explain, and understand our world---is simply something that comes from our babyhood. Perhaps evolution provided human babies with curiosity and a natural drive to explain their worlds, and adult scientists simply make use of the same drive that served them as children. The same cognitive systems that make young children feel good about feel good about figuring something out may have been adopted by adult scientists. As some psychologists put it, ”It is not that children a re little scientists but that scientists are big children.”50. According to some developmental psychologists,A. a baby’s play is nothing more than a game.B. scientific research into babies; games is possibleC. the nature of babies’ play has been thorou ghly investigatedD. a baby’s play is somehow similar to a scientist’s experiment51.We learn from Paragraph 2 thatA. scientists and babies seem to observe the world differentlyB. scientists and babies often interact with each otherC. babies are born with the knowledge of object supportD. babies seem to collect evidence just as scientists do52. Children may learn the rules of language byA. exploring the physical worldB. investigating human psychologyC. repeating their own experimentsD. observing th eir parents’ behaviors53. What is the main idea of the last paragraph?A. The world may be more clearly explained through children’s play.B. Studying babies’ play may lead to a better understanding of science.C. Children may have greater ability to figure out things than scientists.D. One’s drive for scientific research may become stronger as he grows.54. What is the author’s tone when he discusses the connection between scientists’ research and babies’ play?A. Convincing.B. Confused.C. Confidence.D. Cautious.【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。

Blind imitation (模仿)is self-destruction. To those who do not recognize their unique worth. Imitation appears attractive: to those who know their strength.Imitation is unacceptable. In the early stages of skill or character development, imitation is helpful. When I first learned to cook, I used recipes (菜谱) and turned out s ome tasty dishes. But soon I grew bored. Why follow someone else’s way of cooking when I could create my own? Imitating role models is like using training w heels on a child’s bicycle; they help you get going, but once you find your own balance, you fly faster and farther without relying on them.In daily life, imitation can hurt us if we subconsciously (下意识地) hold poor role models. If, as a child, you observed people whose lives were bad, you may have accepted their fear and pain as normal and gone on to follow what they d id. If you do not make strong choices for yourself, you will get the results of the weak choices of others. In the field of entertainment, our culture glorifies celebrities. Those stars look great on screen. But when they step off screen, their personal lives may be disastrous. If you are going to follow someone, focus on their talent, not their bad character or unacceptable behaviors.Blessed is the person willing to act on their sudden desire to create something unique. Think of the movies, books, teachers, and friends that have affected you most deeply. They touched you because their creations were motivated by inspiration, not desperation. The world is changed not by those who do what has been done bef ore them, but by those who do what has been done inside them. Creative people have an endless resource of ideas. The problem a creator faces is not running out of material; it is what to do with the material knocking at the door of imagination.Syudy your role models, accept the gifts they have given, and leave behind what does not server. Then you can say,” I stand on the shoulders of my ancestors” tragedies and tory, and know that they are cheering on.( ) 1.Imitation proves useful when you .A. know you are uniqueB. lose the balance of lifeC. begin to learn something newD. get tired of routine practice( ) 2. To avoid the bad result of imitation, we should________.A. forget daily fear and painB. choose the right exampleC. ask others for decisionsD. stay away from stars( ) 3.Acording to the author. The world moves on because of those who are .A. desperate to intruence others with their knowledgeB. ready to turn their original ideas into realityC. eager to discover what their ancestors didD. willing to accept others’ ideas( ) 4.The trouble a creator faces is .A. the lack of strong motivationB. the absence of practical ideasC. how to search for more materialsD. how to use imagination creatively( ) 5. But if they use the computer too much, they may end up forgetting the exact strokes of each Chinese character when writing on paper. Experts suggest people, especially students, write by hand more.Do you write by hand more or type more? In Beijing, students start using a computer as early as primary school. And computer dependence is more wide-spread among university students. Almost all their homework and essays are typed on a computer. All the students interviewed say they usually use a computer. It's faster and easier to correct if using a computer. And that's why computers are being applied more and more often to modern education. But when people are taking stock in computers increasingly, problems appear."When I'm writing with a pen, I find I often can't remember how to write a character, though I feel I’m familiar with it.""I'm not in the mood to write when faced with a pen and paper."Many students don't feel this is something to worry about. Now that it's more convenient and quick to write on a computer, why bother to handwrite? Many educators think differently.
