I. Teaching aims and learning objectives
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1. know about Neil Armstrong and his space travel;
2. understand the new words and phrases.
II. Teaching contents
1. New words and phrases: pilot, licence, navy, serve, test, aircraft, astronaut, spacecraft, spin, control, pacific,
ocean, land, step, giant, leap, mankind, surface, further, citizen, pride, order, out of
control, cut … short
2. New structures: Armstrong received the order to cut the fight short.
He was the pride of the world.
III. Focus of the lesson and predicted area of difficulty
1. To guess the meaning of new words from context.
2. To improve students’ reading ability, especially their skimming and scanning ability.

一、 教学对象分析
初中三年级学生,对本课语法that,if,whether引导的宾语从句有一定接触和了解,但是并不能系统地知道相关知识点。需要在教学中帮助他们整合、归纳。
二、 教学目标
1. 知识目标
能理解并运用描述人物情绪的词组和常用句型,知道颜色的相关词汇。
2. 能力目标
能够用适当的词汇、句型描述人物的情绪。能够熟练掌握宾语从句。
3. 情感目标
通过学习有关颜色的词汇, 加深对绚丽多彩的世界的热爱。学会使用颜色来调节情绪并根据自己不同的情绪选择不同颜色的服饰。
三、 教学步骤
Step1. Lead-in
T: Hi, everyone. Nice to meet you.
T: Look, here are two pictures. Are they the same?
S: No.
T: What’s the difference between them?
S: The first one is black and white. But the second one is colourful.
T: Which one do you like better?
S: I like the colourful one better than the black and white one.
T: I would rather choose the colourful one than the black and white one.
T: What is this?
S: It is a rainbow.
T: Have you ever seen a rainbow? When? S: Yes. I’ve seen it after the rain.
T: How many colours are there in a rainbow?
