Generally speaking, the relation between symbol in the system is not random, but restrained by rule. Ellis thought that there must be some core rule existed in all natural language. That is to say, even though there are a lot of differences between human's language, there must be something in common. For example, sequences of some English sentences are the same as Chinese sentences, just like "He bought apersonal computer".
