这场战争整整进⾏了6年，席卷61个国家和地区，是⼈类有史以来规模最⼤的战争。

发动侵略战争的德国、⽇本、意⼤利三个法西斯国家曾经横⾏⼀时：德国在1941年上半年时，已经灭亡和控制了欧洲14个国家;⽇本在中国、东南亚和太平洋地区的侵略也连连得逞;意⼤利则在⾮洲等地⼤肆扩张。

这场战争给⼈类带来空前的浩劫和灾难。

第⼆次世界⼤战战争背景 ⽇本侵华 1931年9⽉18⽇，⽇本发动九⼀⼋事变，侵占了中国东北，从⽽在世界东⽅形成第⼀个战争策源地。

之后中 ⽇军进攻沈阳 国政府向国联求助，却并未得到国联的积极回应。

当时西⽅⼤国普遍奉⾏绥靖政策，意图通过纵容法西斯的⾏径来换取暂时的和平，由此⽇本得以⾃⾏其是。

这场事变打破了第⼀次世界⼤战后形成的相对稳定的世界格局，⼆战已经浮现。

1937年7⽉7⽇，⽇本挑起卢沟桥事变，发动全⾯侵华战争，进⼀步加剧了国际形势的紧张态势。

意⼤利⼊侵埃塞俄⽐亚 1929年，世界性的经济危机严重冲击了意⼤利，墨索⾥尼断定领⼟扩张是减轻国内经济压⼒所必需的办法，进⽽⾛向了扩张的道路。

⾸先，他希望先吞并埃塞俄⽐亚，但想达到⽬的，必先得到英、法默许。

英、法最终对意 装备落后的埃塞俄⽐亚战⼠ ⼤利的⾏为采取绥靖政策，墨索⾥尼认为时机已成熟，便于1935年10⽉3⽇，发动了侵略战争，在经过7个⽉的抵抗之后，因西⽅国家的出卖和两国实⼒差距过⼤，埃塞俄⽐亚寡不敌众，最终沦陷。
