Hacksaw Ridge is a 2016 biographical war drama film about the World War II experiences of Desmond Doss, an American soldier who refused to carry or use a firearm or weapons of any kind. In Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, Doss saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he single-handedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. Doss was the first conscientious objector awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. The film was directed by Mel Gibson based on a 2004 documentary about Doss, and stars Andrew Garfield as Doss, with Sam Worthington, Luke Bracey, Teresa Palmer, Hugo Weaving, Rachel Griffiths and Vince Vaughn in supporting roles. It was released in the United States on November 4, 2016, received positive reviews and grossed $175.3 million worldwide.Hacksaw Ridge was chosen by the American Film Institute as one of its top ten Movies of the Year, and has received numerous awards and nominations. The film received six Oscar nominations at the 89th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Garfield and Best Sound Editing, winning the awards for Best Sound Mixing and Best Film Editing.Hacksaw Ridge uses a real-life pacifist's legacy to lay the groundwork for a gripping wartime tribute to faith, valor, and the courage of remaining true to one's convictions.Hacksaw Ridge is a fantastically moving and bruising war film that hits you like a raw topside of beef in the face – a kind of primary-coloured Guernica that flourishes on a big screen with a crowd. It's the best war film since Saving Private Ryan... It is violent, harrowing, heartbreaking and unforgettable. And yes, it was directed by Mel Gibson. He deserves a medal, too.One word to describe Hacksaw Ridge, I would use “real”. Unli ke the Chinese exaggerated TV series of World WarⅡ, this movie perfectly restores the history of that cruel battle in Hacksaw Ridge. Nearly 70000 American soldiers and 10000 Japanese soldiers died or wounded. Though this movie audience will be shocked by the cruelty of wars because Hacksaw Ridge possessed some of the most brutal and harrowing scenes they’ll ever see. Thus they will begin to reflect upon things like war, humanity and so on.This movie actually portraits 2 halves of Doss. One half is a sensitive boy who is affected by his father with survivor guilt and an ordinary young man who will also fall in love with beautiful girls like other young man. By the way, survivor guilt means his father feels guilty about being a survivor during the War War1 while his battle companions all lost their lives. And for the last half, we see a Doss braver than ever. He’s a hero who kept his faith and conquered his fear at the same time save one life after another. It’s not only a movie of a battle between fascists a nd anti-fascists, but also a battle of belief, a battle of duty and fear, a battle of justice and humanity.I would say that this is the best war movie I’ve ever seen and I strongly recommend you to watch the Hacksaw Ridge and set foot on this tough journey along with Doss.。

Bloody hacksaw Ling" heard the name, I didn't want to watch this movie. Because one will know that this movie is a war movie, the thought of war in the flesh and blood flying in all directions bloody scenes, I was very resistant. But my friends say the movie is well worth seeing, and the reviews on the Internet are good. The film tells the story of a young man named Desmond Dawes, is a devout Christian, so he thinks that every life is precious, he also insisted on not to use weapons to fight even on the battlefield, but to save the wounded on the battlefield in the war in the Pacific, by virtue of his own one the power to save more than 70 wounded comrades of the story. The film's protagonist Desmond Dawes very admirable. Before joining the army, his belief was not to carry weapons. He wanted to be a military surgeon and save more lives on the battlefield. But he did not achieve his wish, assigned to the medical corps, in the training of recruits, he did not take weapons by the army boss, Sergeant Wang's ridicule and targeting. Every day to send Desmond to do menial work, and do not take the Dawes Mond weapons behavior is the barracks people see is a coward, so the camp also despised him, often bullied him. On this occasion, how Desmond is not gregarious, want to fight on the war in a group of men, he refused to take weapons, just as people always believe that when Copernicus is sure that the geocentric and heliocentric theory, this takes a lot of courage, he eventually persuaded the army and joined the medical. Team.To the beginning of the war, a group of soldiers came to the tall vertical cliff on the way they came, they saw a car full of deadsoldiers shipped after a car from the car around them, the soldiers on each other to lay some arms and legs broken, some badly mutilated, they are not alive, only the rest of the incomplete body. The soldiers who were ready to go on the battlefield were a bit flustered, as if they had seen their own end. The war began with the sound of gunshots and explosions. Blood splattered, soldiers body blown. The Dawes Mond in this fierce battle will be responsible for the care of the wounded, he just took a tube of serum was bullet broken, more difficult to rescue. The American Army decided to retreat because of the heavy casualties. Just four smoke from the battlefield, for a moment, quiet can only hear the sound of the wind. Those who abandoned in the wounded on the battlefield is how desperate, they may be starved to death, or died in the enemy's bayonet, the enemy will not let a fish escaped through the Seine. This time the Dawes Mond like the Savior of the world appeared, he carefully moved, looking for the survival of the wounded. One of the most impressive of the wounded was a dusty soldier, who thought he was blind because his eyes were covered with dust, and when Desmond washed his eyes with water, he said he saw the light again. Yes, Desmond brought hope light to the wounded. Rescued one after another under the enemy's eye, although he was exhausted, but he also said to himself, as long as one can save one, so he dozens of wounded. When Desmond returned to the camp, everyone in the camp looked at him with admiration. The man in the hospital bed saw him also very excited. He brought morale to the people in the camp. The soldiers were on the battlefield again, and the army raised a white flag to surrender, and the war ended. After reading, my heart for a long time can not calm down, the war is so cruel, although the world is now more peaceful than before, but some areas are still turbulent. If everyone can treasure every life like Desmond, is the world more peaceful?。
