1.3 零主语Vs 形式主语

英语句子常常必须有主语，有时找不到表示事物或 人的名词或代词作主语时，就用“it”作形式主语。 尤其在表示天气、时间、距离、度量等概念时，这 种与汉语思维方式的差异就显得尤为突出。相比较 而言，汉语中主语的使用灵活得多，而且常常可以 省略。只要通过上下文可以判断句子的主语，主语 就没必要出现，此时所用的就是我们常说的“零位 主语”。英语中的形式主语是汉语所没有的，而汉 语的零位主语在英语中也是不存在的。

1.1主题Vs 主语




主语显著的语言是指该语言的核心句型是主语＋谓语构成的框 架，而主题显著是指由主题＋述题构成的句式。主题即句子的 起首部分，相当于“话题”，述题是针对“话题”发表的信息 或评论，通常是“新的信息”。汉语句子的主题可能是名词结 构，与主语一致，但在很多情况下还可能是其他成分。 汉语是“注重主题的语言”(topic-prominent language) 英语是“注重主语的语言”(subject-prominent language ). e.g. 这件事你不用操心。（通顺） This you don’t need to worry about. (×) You don’t need to worry about this. (√) It is unnecessary for you to worry about this. ( √) (汉语没有对 应结构) There is no need for you to worry about this. ( √) （汉语没有 对应结构）

❖ B从语篇衔接中确定主语
❖ 在汉语语篇中，主语的衔接作用主要是 通过对原词的重复，省略或代词替代来 实现。而英语语篇中的主语则往往避免 重复原词，更不能省略原词，而更多地 使用照应和替代来衔接上下文。
❖ 蜜蜂这物件，最爱劳动，广东天气好， 花又多，蜜蜂一年四季都不闲着，酿的 蜜多，自己吃的可有限。
2、谓语的确定
❖汉语中的谓语同主语相似，具有开 放性，几乎各种词类和语言单位都 可以充当汉语句子的谓语，但译成 英语时，句子的谓语只能转化成系 动词或实义动词。
❖ A：汉语谓语如果是名词、数词、形容 词、介词短语等，译成英语的时候一般 要在这些词前面加上连系动词，如be, look, appear, seem, feel, sound, smell, taste等，否则译文句子就不能成立。如：

汉语为语义型语言，注重内容的意会性。其句法特征是意合： 主语可由诸多不同类别的词语充当，主语隐含不显或无主语 句的情况常见；谓语成分复杂，且不受主语支配，没有人称、 数、时态的变化；句与句之间多无明示逻辑关系的连接词。 所以汉语句子看似松散，如流水般无定法可依。
英语为语法型语言，重点研究主谓序列及其相关词类，句子 结构受形式逻辑制约。其句法特征是形合：即主语突出，易 于识别，且只能由名词或名词性的词语担任；谓语绝对受主 语的支配，在人称和数上面必须和主语保持一致，有时态、 语态和语气的变化；句与句之间多以明示逻辑关系的连接词 相联。所以英语依法构句，形式完整而严密。
