Lesson 127 A famous actress单词比一比1、It must be Karen Marsh, the actress.1、must 的主要用法。
1)表示必须、必要We must do everything step by step .我们必须按部就班地做一切事情。
2)must be + 表语的结构,通常表示猜测,含有“一定”之意。
(只用在肯定句中)否定形式为can't。
He must be an honest boy. 他一定是个诚实的男孩。
He can’t be an honest boy.他不会是个诚实的男孩。
This must be your room. 这一定是你的房间。
This can’t be your room. 这不可能是你的房间。
3)must 的否定式有两个:当回答由must引起的问题时,否定答复要用needn’t表示“不必”、“无须”、“用不着”、“不一定”的意义。

序数词前要加定冠词the,但当有了her, his等的代词修饰时,就不用the。
后一句中的her fourth or fifth省略了名词husband。

完整形式为:I’m sure she is forty.
She was a famous actress when I was still at school.

【用法】从属连词when引导时间状语从句,其中when I was still at school为从句,she was a famous actress为主句。
I’m not more than twenty-nine myself.

【用法】○1not more than“不超过,不到”。
例如:

○2more than“超过,多于”,同义词为over。

Grammar Analysis
表猜测和推断的情态助动词must和can’t(1)
【用法】○1英语中,表示“非常有把握的推测”有两种形式,肯定句中用must,而否定句中用can’t,不用mustn’t,因为mustn’t表示禁止。
它们一般与系动词be连用:must be和can’t be。
e.g. He can’t be a doctor. He must be a dentist. 他不可能是个医生。
他一定是位牙医。
She can’t be Danish. She must be Norwegian. 她不可能是丹麦人。
她一定是挪威人。
Tom must have some problem. He keeps crying. 汤姆肯定有什么问题,他一直在哭。
There’s the doorbell. It must be Rose. 门铃响了。
一定是罗斯。
It can’t be the postman. It’s only six o’clock. 那不会是邮递员。
才6点钟。
It can’t be Jones. She has gone abroad. 那肯定不是琼斯。

○2在反义疑问句中,附加疑问句部分不用can或mustn’t,而是根据后面的实义动词来确定。
