二．教材处理本节课是这个单元的第五课时, 直接处理阅读文章的内容，获取、分析和处理信息，在后面的讨论练习中实现有效输出。

三．教学目标1.语言知识目标：①重点单词reflect, pure, aware, vivid, narrow, sharp, tasty, shallow②重点短语be/become aware of, be scared to death2.语言技能目标：①能把握阅读文章的篇章结构，提高获取、分析和处理信息的能力；②能有条理地描述事物和自如地表达情绪。

3.情感态度目标：了解海洋生物及海底世界的奇妙景色，热爱和保护海洋生物。

4.教学重点和难点：教学重点是了解文章主旨大意，把握重要细节，感受作者的情感。

教学难点是学会描述性词语的使用。

四．教学设计1．总体思路通过本单元前面所学内容及电影Finding Nemo片段作为引入，激活学生对于海底世界的兴趣，为后面的教学做好铺垫。

然后通过设置不同的阅读任务，使学生更好的理解文章。

首先，匹配文章各个段落描写的要点，从而培养学生学会快速获取信息、处理信息的能力。

接着让学生在文中找出作者看到的海底生物并关注作者如何描述，了解文章主要细节信息，使学生对文章内容及语篇行文的特点有更加深刻的了解。

这两个部分都由学生课前通过预习课文完成，课堂上直接就这两个部分进行提问及分析。

接着，通过朗读文章第一段和最后一段，讨论作者使用的不同情绪表达方式，使学生更好地感受并了解作者当时的情绪。

学情分析本课是高二年级下学期的课程，学生已经具备一定的知识储备和运用能力，但由于授课的对象的英语基础比较差，水平参差不齐，为了激发全部学生的好奇心和求知欲，课堂采用了创设情境，采用老师扮演鲸鱼，以猜谜的形式引导学生进入本节课。

通过对阅读的整体理解后，由学生扮演课文中出现的不同角色，，来活跃课堂气氛，引发学生对动物保护的意识。

同时，在阅读课中教师要渗透阅读的方法和答题的技巧，培养学生阅读的综合能力。
