Unit 3 Developing ideas & Presenting ideas 名师教学设计●课时内容:Developing ideas分为两部分:第一部分介绍了本杰明·富兰克林的风筝实验。
富兰克林(Benjamin Franklin,1706年1月17日—1790年4月17日)出生于美国马萨诸塞州波士顿,美国政治家、物理学家。
据称在1752年,富兰克林进行了一项著名的实验:在雷雨天气中放风筝,以证明“雷电”是由电力造成的。
至今仍有不少人对于本杰明·富兰克林当年是否进行了这样的实验,或实验到底是如何进行的心存疑虑。
事实上,科学家们都认为如果本杰明·富兰克林真的用手触碰导下了雷电的钥匙,他将会因电击而死亡。
第二部分Writing an experiment report介绍了神奇的瓶子的实验。
该文章以实验报告的形式呈现,句式短小,采用祈使句的格式,简单易懂。
Presenting ideas部分主要让学生讨论身边常见的一些电器的发展、变化,例如:早期的录音机、电话及电脑等以及预想未来还将发生的改变,并用本单元所学知识进行描述。

Step 2: Leading-in► In the last le sson we learnt about the Brownlee brothers’ story. We knew that when Jonny was about to fall onto the track, Alistair chose to help pull his brother towards the finish line, and helped Jonny win the second place, he himself the third in the World Triathlon Series in Mexico.For the Brownlee brothers, this special experience must have become a precious memory for both of them. So everyone, do you have a similar experience with your family members? ► What special family memories do you have? We can feel that through the language she used. So now, everyone, let’s have a close look at the language of the passage.Step 4: Language practice► In Paragraph 1, “I was tidying my room yesterday and found an old photo in a notebook. As I was looking at it, the lovely memory of that day came back to me.”Look at the underlined words, from “was tidying” and “was looking at”, we can tell that the tense used here is ► the past continuous tense, 过去进行时。
过去进行时表示过去在某一时间段或某一段时间正在发生或进行的动作或状态, 其结构是was或were doing。
And there is a very beautiful sentence we need to learn: ►“The lovely memory of that day came back to me.” 那天的美好回忆又浮现在我脑海里。
You can learn to use this sentence to introduce your special memory, too.► Let’s look at more sentences about “lovely memory”, so that you can master it well and apply it to your own writing. Let’s do some translation practice.“What happened between you and me will be well remembered and become a lovely memory.” How to translate it? (5秒)►Yes, 我们之间发生的一切都会被铭记,并成为一段美好的回忆。

I woke up really early and tip-toed to the kitchen.”The underlined words: “was”, “decided to”, “woke up” and “tip-toed” indicate the tense us ed here is ► the simple past tense, 一般过去时,一般过去时是用来表示过去的动作或状态。

And another word “tip-toe”, what does it mean? Why did she need to tip-toe to the kitchen?Tip-toe means you stand or walk on the tips of your toes.
