Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, lies in the hinterland of the Chengdu Plain, in central Sichuan. Chengdu enjoys a long history. 2,500 years ago, Kaiming , king of ancient Shu in the Zhou Dynasty (11th century ), started to set up the capital in Chengdu. A town was built in this area in the first year and the capital in the second year, so the ancestor named the city as Chengdu, which means to become a capital.

Located in the south suburb of Chengdu, the temple covers 37,000 square meters. The date of its establishment is unclear, only that it was built next to the temple of Liu Bei, the emperor of Shu. It was combined with the Temple of Liu Bei at the beginning of the Ming Dynasty. Surrounded by old cypresses (柏树)and classical red walls, the temple evokes nostalgia(乡愁).
