【学习目标】

Read the passage and think about the different meanings of “it”.
What does “it” refer to?
1. It woke everybody up.

三、Languages points：
1.It woke everybody up.
wake up 表示“唤醒，弄醒”。当wake up的宾语是名词时，宾语可放在两词中间也可放在up后面；当宾语是代词时,只能放在两词中间。也可不跟宾语，单独使用。
(1)今天早上5点30分我妈妈叫醒了我。My mother ____ ___ ___at half past five this morning.
(2)闹钟每天早上叫醒我。

2. But it was a pity that it was cloudy.
It is a pity that ...是“很遗憾,很可惜…”的意思, it 做形式主语,真正的主语是that引导的主语从句。
(1)遗憾的是我们没有看到湖泊和森林。__ ___ __ ___ ____we didn’t see the lakes and forests.
(2)遗憾的是我们只能看到云雾缭绕的山顶。
