Have u heard of a movie called Blind Massage recently? This movie which is set in Nanjing is a 2014 Chinese-French film directed by Lou Ye and based on a novel by Bi Feiyu. The film was in competition for the Golden Bear at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival.
What is massage and what is blind massage?
Massage has developed continuously in China for over 5000 years. Westerners are considered within the traditional framework. It is widely practiced and taught in hospital and medical schools and is an essential part of health maintenance and primary healthcare.

Since the open and reform policy, this industry has been seen to have more opportunities for the blind person. According to a research, there are 300,000 blindman working as a masseur in 2013 and the number is increasing. Compared with normal people, blindmen are believed to focus more on massaging because they are blind. Many blindmen have less choices to make a living. They work as a masseur or a foutune-teller. And obviously, masseur is a noble job because they can help people and have a lot of medical knowledge just like a doctor. Therefore, many blind people have a tendency to be a masseur. Those are the reason why many massage stores have been a great expansion. Mr. Yang, a blind masseur, told the jounrnalist that he had to do this job because of his disability. If he could see, he would have probably not made a living by massaging. It is regretable that he could not achieve his dreams.。
